- If you are positioning a system log file to be automatically extended in a HiRDB file system area on a regular file, allocate sufficient free space on the disk on which the HiRDB file system area is being created.
- If the HiRDB file system area is extended as system log files are automatically extended, HiRDB initializes the extended area, increasing the disk input/output load.
- Swapping to a system log file being extended might require some time. In such a case, reassess the value specified for the pd_log_swap_timeout operand or the -t option of the pdlogswap command.
- When the current file is being extended, the HiRDB file system area is locked during extension, and as a result system log input/output might require some time.
