4.7.14 Increasing the number of records in a TAM file

If you want to increase the number of records in a TAM file, first use the -d option in the tambkup command to back up only user data and then use the tamcre command to create a new TAM file with the increased number of records. Next, allocate the data you have backed up using the -d option in the tamcre command to the TAM file.

Note that if you use the tamrstr command to restore the new TAM file with more records you created using the tamcre command, the number of records will not be increased, since the control information for the backup file will be overwritten.
