Type list box

Select the type of node to be created. The following types of nodes are available:

  • CONFIG

  • SSH

By default, "CONFIG" is selected.

DCOM is not supported in UNIX. If you select DCOM as a node type and create a node, then further operations cannot be guaranteed.

Dialog display area

Displays the items in the Node general information area, which are dynamically loaded based on the type of node selected in the Type list box.

  • Select CONFIG as node type to display the Node Config General pane.
  • Select SSH as node type to display the Node SSH General pane.

List of dialog box items of CONFIG node type

If the selected Node Type is CONFIG, then the Dialog display area displays the following items in a sequence:

Type list box

Select the type of node to be created, for example, CONFIG.

Name text box

Specify the name of the node to be created. This is a mandatory item.

Node Host text box

Node Directory text box

Specify the path to the directory, which will contain the server instances that are created on the node. This is a mandatory item.

Installation Directory text box

Specify the full path to the installation directory of the Application Server software on the host. This is a mandatory item.

If the selected Node Type is CONFIG, then the Dialog display area displays the following action items:

OK button

To create a new node of type CONFIG based on the details specified in the Type, Name, Node Host, Node Directory, and Installation Directory display items, click the OK button. If all the mandatory items are specified, then the OK button is enabled.

Cancel button

To close the Create New Node dialog box without creating the node of type CONFIG, click the Cancel button.

Specifies whether the node is created even if validation of the node's parameters fails check box

Select this check box to forcefully create the node even if the validation of the node's parameters fail. If this check box is selected, the validation error is ignored and the node is created. If this check box is cleared, the node is not created even if there are any validation errors.

If the selected Node Type is SSH, then the Dialog display area displays the following action items:

OK button
