5.15 Deploy Application dialog box (Configuration tab)

Use the Deploy Application dialog box to deploy the application packages on the server using the available options on the specific targets. The options are uploading a specific package, specifying the absolute path of the package accessible from the server, and selecting the sample applications. The maximum size of a file that can be uploaded is 500 MB.

The Deploy Application dialog box displays the following items in a sequence:

Package file to be uploaded to the server radio button

Select this radio button to upload and deploy the package file on the target server(s).

Selected file display text box

Click this text box to display a dialog box, where you can browse and select the package file. You can select a file of any one of the following types:

  • war
  • jar
  • ear
  • rar

This text box is updated with the selected package name. If the Package file to be uploaded to the server radio button is selected, then this text box is mandatory.

Select the package button

To display a dialog box to browse for the desired package files, click the Select the package file button. When you select a file from this dialog box, the Selected file display text box is updated with the selected package name.

Package file accessible from server radio button

Select this radio button if the package file that you want to deploy is accessible from the server.

Package file path accessible from server text box

Specify the absolute path of the package file that you can access from the server. This is a mandatory item, only when the Package file accessible from server radio button is selected.

Select Sample button

To select the sample application to be deployed, click this button to display the Select Sample dialog box, select the sample application to check the activation of the Application Server, and then click the OK button. Based on the selected sample application, the Package file path accessible from server text box displays the relative file path of the sample application from the server.

Description

Specify the description of the application.

Enable the application on selected target(s) check box

Specify whether the application should be enabled or disabled after deployment. To enable or disable the application on the target(s) selected in the Target Server Selector, select or clear the Enable the application on selected target(s) check box. By default, this check box is selected.

The Deploy Application dialog box displays the following Target items in a tabular format:

Target Server Selector

Displays the check box for the target server(s) listed in the Name column. If the header check box of the Target Server Selector column is selected or cleared, then all the check boxes of the Target Server Selector column are selected or cleared respectively.

Name

Displays the name of all the available clusters, Java EE servers, and Domain Administration Server (DAS). By default, this column is sorted in ascending order.

The Deploy Application dialog box displays the following action items:

OK button

To deploy the package based on the selected option in either the Package file to be uploaded to the server radio button or the Package file accessible from server radio button, click the OK button. If all the mandatory items are specified, then this button is enabled. If the java.lang.OutOfMemoryError error occurs on the DAS while deploying the application, then the Java heap on the DAS may not be sufficient. Ensure that the size of the Java heap on the DAS can accommodate the archive size of the deployed application.

Cancel button

To close the Deploy Application dialog box without deploying the application, click the Cancel button.
