List of pane items

The Node General pane displays the following dynamic item:

Sub title

Displays the name of the selected node.

The Node General pane displays the following General items in a sequence:

Type list box

Displays the types of nodes, available for selection. The different types of nodes available are CONFIG and DCOM. By default, CONFIG is selected.SSH is not supported in Windows.

Node general information area

Displays the items in the Node general information area, which varies based on the type of node selected in the Type list box.

  • Select CONFIG as node type to display the Node Config General pane.
  • Select DCOM as node type to display the Node DCOM General pane.

Pane components of CONFIG node type

List of pane items of CONFIG node type

If the selected Node type is CONFIG, then the Node General pane displays the following General items in a sequence:

Name

Displays the name of the selected node.

Type list box

Displays the types of nodes, available for selection. The different types of nodes available are CONFIG and DCOM. By default, CONFIG is selected. You can edit the text specified in this list box.

Node Host text box

Specify the name of the host that the selected node represents. By default, this text box displays the name of the host that is already specified. This is a mandatory item.

Node Directory text box

Specify the path to the directory, which is to contain the server instances that are created on the selected node. By default, this text box displays the node directory that is already specified. If the node directory is not specified, then this text box is blank.

Installation Directory text box

Specify the full path to the installation directory of the Application Server software on the host. By default, this text box displays the installation directory that is already specified for the selected node. If the installation directory is not specified, then this text box is blank.

If the selected Node Type is CONFIG, then the Node General pane displays the following action item:

Apply button

To confirm and apply the values specified in the Node type, Node host, Node directory, and Installation directory display items (on the selected node displayed in the Name text box), click the Apply button to display the Apply Changes dialog box, and then click the OK button. If all the mandatory items are specified, then the Apply button is enabled.

Pane components of DCOM node type

List of pane items of DCOM node type

If the selected Node Type is DCOM, then Node General pane displays the following General items in a sequence:

Name

Displays the name of the selected node.

Type list box

Displays the types of nodes, available for selection. The different types of nodes available are CONFIG and DCOM. By default, DCOM is selected. You can edit the text specified in this list box.

As per the CUI specification, the Windows password is not mandatory. However, if the Windows Password text box is null, then the DCOM node update fails. As the CUI does not behave as per its specification, to avoid the failure condition, the Windows password has been made mandatory in Administration Console.

Specify the name of the host that the selected node represents. By default, this text box displays the name of the host that is already specified. This is a mandatory item.

Node Directory text box
