2.2 Deploy Application dialog box (Setup Guide tab)

Use the Deploy Application dialog box to deploy application packages on the target server(s) by using the available options on specific targets. The options are uploading a specific package, specifying the absolute path of the package accessible from server, and selecting from sample applications. The maximum size of a file that can be uploaded is 500 MB.

The Deploy Application dialog box displays the following items in a sequence:

Upload and Deploy package file radio button

Select this radio button to upload and deploy package files on the server. By default, this radio button is selected.

Selected file display text box

Click this text box to display a dialog box to browse through the package files. You can select a file of any one of the following types:

  • war
  • jar
  • ear
  • rar

This text box is updated with the selected package name. This is a mandatory item only when the Upload and Deploy package file radio button is selected.

Select the package file button

Click the Select the package file button to display a dialog box to browse through the package files. You can select a file of any one of the following types:

  • war
  • jar
  • ear
  • rar

If you select a file from the dialog box, the Selected file display text box is updated with the selected package name.

Deploy package by specifying the package file path accessible from server radio button

Select this radio button, if you can access (from the server) the package file that you want to deploy.

Package file path accessible from server text box

Specify the absolute path of the package that you can access from the server. This is a mandatory item only when the Deploy package by specifying the package file path accessible from server radio button is selected.

Select Sample button

Click the Select Sample button to select a sample application to be deployed from the Select Sample dialog box. The Package file path accessible from server text box displays the relative file path of the selected sample application.

The Deploy Application dialog box displays the Target items in a tabular format:

Target Server Selector

Select the check box in a Target Server row to select the server on which a package file will be deployed. If the header check box of the Target Server Selector column is selected or cleared, then all the check boxes of the Target Server Selector column are selected or cleared respectively.

Name

Displays a list of all the available clusters, non-clustered Java EE servers, and the Domain Administration Server (DAS). By default, this column is sorted in ascending order.

The Deploy Application dialog box displays the following action items:

OK button

To deploy the application based on the option selected in either the Upload and Deploy package file radio button or the Deploy package by specifying the package file path accessible from server radio button, click the OK button. If all the mandatory items are specified, then the OK button is enabled. If the java.lang.OutOfMemoryError error occurs on the DAS while deploying the application, the Java heap on the DAS may not be sufficient. Ensure that the size of the Java heap on the DAS can accommodate the archive size of the deployed application.

Cancel button

To close the Deploy Application dialog box without deploying the application based on the option selected in either the Upload and Deploy package file radio button or the Deploy package by specifying the package file path accessible from server radio button, click the Cancel button.
