7.1 Application development environment to be created
You can create an application development environment by allocating Eclipse, a single Java EE server, and the domain administration server on the same application development environment computer. This section provides an overview of the application development environment, such as the configuration of the application development environment that can be created, and the creation method.
Configuration of the application development environment to be created
By following the procedure for creating the application development environment, described in this manual, you can create a configuration in which the Eclipse environment for application development and the debugging environment for unit testing of developed applications are allocated on the same application development environment computer.
-
The Eclipse environment
Allocates Eclipse and the WTP plugin for Application Server.
WTP plugin for Application Server: You can perform unit testing after an application that was developed in the Eclipse environment is deployed to the Java EE server for debugging.
-
The debugging environment
Allocates the processes of the domain administration server, Java EE server, web server, and performance tracer and manages the processes by domain.
The following shows the logical configuration of the application development environment.
Elements created by default after installing and setting up Application Server for Developers
When installation of Application Server for Developers is complete, Eclipse and the default debugging environment are set up on the host of the installation destination. In the default debugging environment, the service of the domain administration server starts automatically and the components below, whose names are enclosed by parentheses (), are created. Note that the service name of the domain administration server is domain1_name_granted_by_service, which is a three-digit number (identifier) automatically generated by the Hitachi Integrated Installer.
-
Default domain (domain1)
-
Default node (localhost-domain1)
-
Web server (Web1_domain1_identifier)
-
Performance tracer (PRF1)
-
Java EE server (JavaEE1)
- Reference note
-
The default values of the following parameter differ between the application execution environment and the debugging environment:
- Performance tracer file size
-
hitachi-prf-configs.hitachi-prf-config.PRF1-config.property.trace-file-size
Application execution environment: 262,144
Debugging environment: 32,768
Methods for creating the application development environment
An application development environment can be created by using either of the following methods. This manual gives the procedure for creating an environment by using commands.
-
Commands
Create an environment by performing the procedures described in this manual. Execute commands by using administrator privileges.
-
Administration Console
Log in to the Administration Console and create an environment by using the GUI. Except for operations that are related to the domain, you can use the same procedure as when using commands.
