The automation uses AWX, an OSS.
The system administrator must create an organization in advance to use AWX and assign Ops I users to the organization. The users must also be assigned the Ops I role to access AWX. For information on the Ops I roles, see “Correspondence between roles and support functions in Ops I”.
Organizations are not linked with Ops I customers or user groups, but are the unit for managing all resources together, including AWX job templates, projects, and inventories.

By using a relay server, Ops I operations can be performed in a hybrid cloud to leverage the advantages of cloud and on-premise environments. This section describes the procedure for setting a relay server.
Setting the relay server function “outpost” allows the automation application (AWX) jobs to be performed from an on-premise environment.
Communications between Ops I and relay servers are encrypted with TLS and SSH. In addition, communications between relay servers and managed servers are encrypted with TLS or SSH.

In Ops I, files can be attached in each step of a workflow, such as an application form attached when making an application from a service catalog, or a report summarizing the results of service execution by the operation agent.
To attach files in the course of workflows, changes must be made to the setting of the “global” repository that is registered in Ops I in advance. for details on the document function and procedure for changing repository settings, see “Documents”.

This section provides an overview of single sign-on through identity provider (IdP) linkage and its configuration.
The protocol used for authentication between Ops I and the IdP supports the following.
OIDC (OpenID Connect) SAML (Security Assertion Markup Language) Single sign-on through IdP linkage allows external application users to log in to and operate Ops I, ensuring seamless integration between external applications and Ops I.
For the IdP linkage, the Ops I security administrator is responsible for configuration on the Ops I side, and the IdP administrator is responsible for configuration on the IdP side.

This section describes how to connect Ops I to an on-premise environment via a private network.
(1) Outline Connects Ops I to the user’s AWS account using the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Transit Gateway.
It also connects the user’s AWS account to the on-premise environment using AWS Direct Connect or a site-to-site VPN.
As a result, the on-premise environment and Ops I can be connected via a private network.
