4.7.3 Preparing the load balancer
You can use BIG-IP or ACOS as the load balancer in the Smart Composer functionality. In the case of BIG-IP, you can use BIG-IP v9, BIG-IP v10.1, BIG-IP v10.2, or BIG-IP v11, and in the case of ACOS, you can use AX2000, AX2500, or BS320.
The method of connecting to Application Server differs depending on the load balancer you use.
-
For BIG-IP (BIG-IP v9, BIG-IP v10.1, BIG-IP v10.2, or BIG-IP v11)
It is a method of direct connection using APIs (SOAP architecture). For notes on using APIs, see 4.7.4 Notes on connecting using APIs.
- Reference note
-
In the case of BIG-IP v9, BIG-IP v10.1, and BIG-IP v10.2, you can also use the direct connection method using the ssh protocol. If you choose this method, you must do the prior settings on the host for allocating Management Server. For details on settings, see Appendix J.2 (2) For BIG-IP v9, BIG-IP v10.1, or BIG-IP v10.2.
-
For ACOS (AX2000 or BS320)
This is the method of direct connection using the telnet protocol.
-
For ACOS (AX2500)
This is the method of direct connection using APIs (REST architecture). For notes on using APIs, see 4.7.4 Notes on connecting using APIs.
