3.4.4 Notes on temporary files
-
In Windows, while the program is running, Component Container creates temporary files in the directory specified in the TMP or TEMP environment variable, or in the temporary directory allocated by the OS to the user.
Therefore, to operate a program normally, the user must have the write permission for the directory where the temporary file is created. Also, do not delete the temporary file and the directory where the temporary file is created while the program is running.
-
In UNIX, Application Server creates and uses the following temporary file to communicate with other processes:
/tmp/hsperfdata_user-name/process-ID
Therefore, to operate Application Server normally, the user must have the write permission for /tmp.
Also, the operations when the access permissions for the created temporary file and directory are changed and when a temporary file is deleted while JavaVM is running are not guaranteed.
