2.3.2 Notes on allocating multiple hosts of same configuration
Notes on allocating multiple hosts having the same configuration are as follows.
-
If the tuning implemented in the source host cannot be replicated, the following operations take place in the replication source or target host, and replication might fail.
-
An error occurs while exporting the Easy Setup definition file in the replication source host.
-
The replication target host is replicated by ignoring the non-replicable tuning information. In such cases, the settings performed during the setup of source host are applied to the target host.
The following table describes the non-replicable tuning items, and the host operations.
Table 2‒6: Non-replicable tuning items and the host operations No.
Tuning items
Host operations
1
Management Server settings
If you change the following items of Management Server settings, an error occurs while exporting, and the replication fails.
-
"Management user ID" and "Password" in the management user account settings
-
"HTTP port number for Management Server connection" in the network settings
-
"Port number for Administration Agent" in the host definition
If you change the any other setting information of Management Server, error does not occur while exporting. However, the settings performed during the setup of the replication source host are applied to the replication target host.
2
Component Container Administrator settings
Even if you change the settings of Component Container Administrator, error does not occur while exporting. However, the settings performed during the setup of the replication source host are applied to the replication target system.
3
Web system settings
If you change the items other than the following items of the Web system settings, an error occurs while exporting, and replication fails.
-
Logical server parameter settings performed by using the Easy Setup definition file of Smart Composer functionality
-
"Logical server environment settings" and "Start/ stop logical server" settings performed by using the management portal
4
Database connection settings
You can replicate the JDBC driver settings among the database connection settings. Even if you change the setting items other than JDBC driver, error does not occur while exporting. However, the settings performed during the setup of the replication source host are applied to the target host.
-
-
The platform of the replication target host must be the same as that of the replication source host. Replication might fail if the platform is different than the replication source.
-
Use the Easy Setup definition file exported with the setupwizard command in the replication target host. The replication might fail if you use the Easy Setup definition file exported without using the setupwizard command.
