3.5.1 Setting a community name
To enable communication with SSO, you need to set the community name. To set the community name, follow the procedures shown below.
- Organization of this subsection
(1) In Windows
With the SNMP Security Configuration of the SNMP Service service, set the community name.
For the community's permission levels, specify the READ_WRITE or READ_CREATE privilege. In addition, you must configure the community so that it can accept SNMP packets from the SSO.
(2) In UNIX
To set a community name, specify the Get and Set community names in /etc/SnmpAgent.d/snmpd.conf as appropriate to the environment in use.
