A.12 Host ID change suppression

The following procedure shows how to suppress host ID changes.

1. Confirm that the target agent is registered in device information window of JP1/IT Desktop Management 2-Manager.

2. Open [Explorer Options] from [Control panel] on the computer where agent is installed.

3. Select the "Show hidden files, folders, and drives" radio button under [File and Folder]-[Show Files and Folders] in the [View] tab's advanced settings.

   By default, the "Hide hidden files, folders, and drives" radio button is selected.

4. After pressing the [Apply] button, press the [OK] button.

5. Move to Windows folder (C:\ Windows).

6. Make sure that the "jdnagent.nid.old" file does not exist in Windows folder (C:\ Windows).

   If a "jdnagent.nid.old" file exists, delete it.

7. Copy the host ID file "jdnagent.nid" and duplicate the file.

8. Name the duplicated file "jdnagent.nid.old" and store it in Windows folder (C:\ Windows).

9. If necessary, restore the settings that you changed in step 3.
