11.1.2 Using common user profiles
This subsection describes common user profiles and their use.
- Organization of this subsection
(1) About common user profiles
Common user profiles, maintained by JP1/AJS3 - Manager at the login destination, consist of JP1/AJS3 - View settings information that is common to all JP1 users.
Common user profiles hold the following information:
-
Information related to customization that uses dialog boxes and menus from JP1/AJS3 - View
-
Information related to customization that uses the JP1/AJS3 - View user-specified option file (ajs2view_opt.conf)
JP1/AJS3 - View users can apply the settings common to all JP1 users to JP1/AJS3 - View simply by downloading a common user profile that the system administrator has uploaded in JP1/AJS3 - Manager. Users who use a common user profile do not need to specify JP1/AJS3 - View again.
The capability to upload items that will be used as common settings among JP1 users as common user profiles in JP1/AJS3 - Manager is a useful feature.
Supplementary notes
-
If the following directories and files already exist in JP1/AJS3 - Manager, give the OS user write privilege mapped to the JP1 user in advance.
-
For a physical host (in an environment where the OS is not Windows Server 2003):
The value is different depending on the installation folder.
If the installation folder is the default installation folder or is in a folder protected by the system:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Hitachi\JP1\JP1_DEFAULT\JP1AJS2\conf
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Hitachi\JP1\JP1_DEFAULT\JP1AJS2\conf\profiles
A folder protected by the system is the path to a folder in any of the following:
- system-drive\Windows
- system-drive\Program Files
- system-drive\Program Files (x86)
If the installation folder is other than the above:
JP1/AJS3 - Manager-installation-folder\conf
JP1/AJS3 - Manager-installation-folder\conf\profiles
-
For a physical host (in Windows Server 2003):
JP1/AJS3 - Manager-installation-folder\conf
JP1/AJS3 - Manager-installation-folder\conf\profiles
-
For a physical host (in UNIX):
/etc/opt/jp1ajs2/conf
/etc/opt/jp1ajs2/conf/profiles
-
For a logical host (in Windows):
shared-directory\jp1ajs2\conf
shared-directory\JP1AJS2\conf\profiles
-
For a logical host (in UNIX):
shared-directory/jp1ajs2/conf
shared-directory/jp1ajs2/conf/profiles
-
-
If the following directories and files already exist in JP1/AJS3 - View, give the OS user write privilege for JP1/AJS3 - View starting in advance.
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Hitachi\JP1\JP1_DEFAULT\JP1AJS2V\conf\JP1-user-name\ajs2view_opt.conf
The default value for %ALLUSERSPROFILE% is system-drive\ProgramData.
-
The same common user profile uploaded and downloaded by different versions of JP1/AJS - View can still be used. If you use an earlier version of JP1/AJS - View to download a common user profile containing information uploaded from a later version of JP1/AJS - View, you have use of the common user profile within the limits of the functions supported by the earlier version of JP1/AJS - View.

For details about how to narrow down the status of jobs to display only certain jobs, see 10.1.2 Using the Filter Settings dialog box to narrow down execution statuses.
- #2
-
For details about how to add units to the summary list, see 8.3 Monitoring the progress.
- #3
-
For details about how to save search conditions, see 10.2 Finding and displaying units.
- #4
-
For details about how to display unregistered units, see 6.4 Checking a defined schedule.
- #5
-
If you make settings so that the execution schedule of unregistered units is to be displayed, calculation of the execution schedule might delay startup of the Monthly Schedule window.
Therefore, if the person defining the schedule of jobnets is not the same person who monitors the status of jobnets, we recommend that you upload common user profiles that are set so that the execution schedule of unregistered units is not displayed.

-
The command settings registered in the JP1/AJS3 Command Settings dialog box can be saved in the common user profile. For details on how to register commands in the JP1/AJS3 Command Settings dialog box, see 10.4.1 Registering JP1/AJS3 commands.
(3) Uploading and downloading common user profiles
The following describes how to upload common user profiles to and download them from JP1/AJS3 - Manager.
- To upload common user profiles to JP1/AJS3 - Manager:
-
In the JP1/AJS3 - View window, click Options, Common User Profile, and Upload.
- Supplementary notes
-
-
During the upload, the settings not changed from the defaults are assumed to be uploaded with the defaults.
-
In the Jobnet Monitor window, to upload Set Refresh Interval, you need to close the Jobnet Monitor window before you upload Set Refresh Interval.
-
To upload the screen sizes of the list area in the JP1/AJS3 - View window (Main window) and the execution result list in the Daily Schedule window and the Monthly Schedule window, you need to close the windows before uploading them.
-
Any JP1 user can perform an upload. If you want to prevent uploading by specific JP1 users, set the upload operation menu so that uploading is disabled for those JP1 users. For the customization method, see 11.3.9 Disabling menus.
-
- To download common user profiles from JP1/AJS3 - Manager:
-
In the JP1/AJS3 - View window, click Options, Common User Profile, and Download.
- Supplementary notes
-
-
If a downloading JP1 user did not create ajs2view_opt.conf in the JP1/AJS3 - View host, ajs2view_opt.conf is created according to ajs2view_opt_en.conf.model.
-
The time that downloaded settings become effective varies according to the settings. To validate all the downloaded settings at the same time, restart JP1/AJS3 - View.
-
- Cautionary note
-
Do not upload, to the same JP1/AJS3 - Manager host, common user profiles from multiple JP1/AJS3 - View hosts whose language settings are different. Similarly, do not download common user profiles from the same JP1/AJS3 - Manager host to multiple JP1/AJS3 - View hosts whose language settings are different.
