JP1 Version 13 JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Administration Guide

5.3 Checking the operating status of JP1/AJS3

In JP1/AJS3, the amount of data processed by scheduler services and the execution status of jobs can be output as performance reports.

During operation of JP1/AJS3, a large number of jobnets might be executed in a specific time period or many jobnets with start conditions might start at the same time. If such a situation occurs, the amount of data that the scheduler services must process might increase, which can cause problems, such as delays in job execution, to occur. By outputting performance reports and checking the operating status of JP1/AJS3, you can readily understand the occurrence of such problems.

In JP1/AJS3, you can also output the job execution results and job execution status of execution agents to the execution agent performance report.

If maintenance is performed while jobs are running, abnormal termination of the application might occur unexpectedly. Therefore, when you schedule maintenance (especially maintenance requiring a server restart), you must carefully determine the time at which to start maintenance so that maintenance is not performed while jobs are running. A JP1/AJS3 system with many agent hosts requires maintenance to be performed at a higher frequency. The execution agent performance report, which provides information about the status of job executions on execution agents, facilitates prediction of time periods during which no jobs are running.
