JP1 Version 13 JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 System Design (Configuration) Guide

4.6.3 Considering the Management Portal execution environment

To use the Web GUI (Management Portal), you must set it up on both the manager host and agent host. For details about how to set up Web GUI (Management Portal), see the sections corresponding to the OS. For Windows, see 6.7 Settings related to the Web GUI in the JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Configuration Guide. For Linux, see 15.8 Settings related to the Web GUI in the JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Configuration Guide.

This section describes the management portal execution environment for using the Web GUI (Management Portal). You might need to change some settings.

Organization of this subsection

(1) Environment settings for JP1/AJS3 - Manager

The following conditions must be met to use the Web GUI (Management Portal).

To obtain the status of JP1/AJS3 from the Web GUI, you might need to specify the settings described in the following sections:

The Web GUI can be used even if the preceding four additional settings are not specified. However, if these additional settings are not specified, some of the JP1/AJS3 operating information will not be displayed with the Web GUI.

The following table lists the items that will not be displayed with the Web GUI (Management Portal).

14

"JOBAGGJP1USERNAME"=

Sets the name of the JP1 user who aggregates the number of job executions.

15

[{JP1_DEFAULT|logical-host-name}\JP1AJSMANAGER]#1

"PERIODICAGTAGG"=

Sets whether to automatically aggregate execution agent performance data.

16

"AGTAGGJP1USERNAME"=

Sets the name of the JP1 user who aggregates execution agent performance data.

17

"AGTAGGSTARTTIME"=

Sets the time at which to start aggregation of execution agent performance data.

18

19

"AGTAGGRESULTSSTOREDAYPERIOD"=

Sets the retention period (in days) of the aggregation results for execution agent performance data.

#1

The specification of the {JP1_DEFAULT|logical-host} part depends on whether the host is a physical host or a logical host. For a physical host, specify JP1_DEFAULT. For a logical host, specify the logical host name.

#2

Set yes for this parameter if you want to display the number of job executions for a scheduler service in the Number of job executions dialog box or the Number of job executions in a day dialog box of the Web GUI (Management Portal).

(2) Environment settings for JP1/AJS3 - Agent

Consider the values to be set for the environment setting parameters shown later. For details about the environment setting parameters, see 20.15 Management Portal execution environment in the JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Configuration Guide.

(3) OS user to be mapped to a JP1 user

In Windows, the privilege needed by the OS user differs depending on whether the UAC function is enabled.

In an environment in which the UAC function is enabled, any OS user who belongs to the Administrators group, including the built-in administrator account, can be mapped to the JP1 user for accessing Management Portal. This function can be enabled by setting 1 for the UACAdministratorsMP environment setting parameter. If you set 1 (permit use by any user who belongs to the Administrators group) for this parameter, note that the OS user to be mapped must have Log on as a batch job permission. Make sure that the Administrators group is added to the list of users or groups granted Log on as a batch job permission.

For details about the UACAdministratorsMP setting parameter, see 20.15.2(3) UACAdministratorsMP in the JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Configuration Guide.

The following table shows the conditions related to availability of the Web GUI (Management Portal) for the OS user.
