4.6.3 Considering the Management Portal execution environment
To use the Web GUI (Management Portal), you must set it up on both the manager host and agent host. For details about how to set up Web GUI (Management Portal), see the sections corresponding to the OS. For Windows, see 6.7 Settings related to the Web GUI (Management Portal) in the JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Configuration Guide. For Linux, see 15.8 Settings related to the Web GUI (Management Portal) in the JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Configuration Guide.
This section describes the management portal execution environment for using the Web GUI (Management Portal). You might need to change some settings.
- Organization of this subsection
(1) Environment settings for JP1/AJS3 - Manager
The following conditions must be met to use the Web GUI (Management Portal).
-
If the system time of the JP1/AJS3 Manager host is changed by using the NTP (Network Time Protocol) or some other means, make sure that:
-
The time is adjusted in milliseconds by using, for example, the slew mode, to prevent the same time from occurring twice.
-
Time adjustment operations are logged so that they can be confirmed later.
-
-
When you set the system time backward, make sure you delete the performance log file.
For details about how to delete performance log files, see 7.9.3 Changing the date and time of the system in the JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Administration Guide.
-
When you set the system time backward, make sure you delete the aggregation results of the number of job executions.
For details, see 7.9.3 Changing the date and time of the system in the JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Administration Guide.
-
An OS user with administrator privileges must be mapped to the JP1 user who logs in to the Management Portal.
If the environment setting parameter ADMACLIMIT is set to yes, set access privileges so that the JP1 user who logs in to the Management Portal can view all event jobs defined as startup conditions in the target scheduler service.
If a JP1 user who logs in to the Management Portal cannot view the event job defined as a start condition, the Event Job Retention Details dialog box cannot be viewed. For details about the ADMACLIMIT environment setting parameter, see 20.11.2(4) ADMACLIMIT in the JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Configuration Guide.
-
To view the usage state of a scheduler service or the retention states of jobnets with start conditions in a scheduler service, make sure that the logged-in JP1 user has access permission to view all units managed by the scheduler service.
-
The time zone of the JP1/AJS3 manager host is not a daylight saving time zone.
To obtain the status of JP1/AJS3 from the Web GUI (Management Portal), you might need to specify the settings described in the following sections:
-
6.6 Settings related to the output of performance reports in the JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Configuration Guide (for Windows), or 15.7 Settings related to the output of performance reports in the JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Configuration Guide (for UNIX)
-
21.5 Setting up the job distribution delay reduction function in the JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Configuration Guide
-
21.7 Settings for detecting factors that might stop job execution in the JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Configuration Guide
The Web GUI (Management Portal) can be used even if the preceding three additional settings are not specified. However, if these additional settings are not specified, some of the JP1/AJS3 operating information will not be displayed with the Web GUI (Management Portal). The following table lists the items that will not be displayed.

The specification of the {JP1_DEFAULT|logical-host} part depends on whether the host is a physical host or a logical host. For a physical host, specify JP1_DEFAULT. For a logical host, specify the logical host name.
- #2
-
Set yes for this parameter if you want to display the number of job executions for a scheduler service in the Number of job executions dialog box or the Number of job executions in a day dialog box of the Web GUI (Management Portal).
(2) Environment settings for JP1/AJS3 - Agent
Consider the values to be set for the environment setting parameters shown later. For details about the environment setting parameters, see 20.15 Management Portal execution environment in the JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Configuration Guide.
