9.2.4 Notes on the health check function
Note the following points when you use the health check function:
-
The health check function uses communication between processes to determine that an error occurred if no response is received. Therefore, if a response for health checking is received late due to a cause such as load on the machine, the function can determine that an error has occurred even though the process did not actually hang up.
Set up the polling interval and non-response count for health check signals to suit your environment, so that the function will not determine that an error has occurred during normal operation.
-
When the system load on JP1/IM - Manager host is high, process performance for each function decreases and the health check function might regard that as an error. Therefore, if you use the health check function, conduct sufficient testing of high system load. Furthermore, ensure that there is no problem with the definition such as no-response-time, response-count-treated-as-error etc. in the Health check definition file (jcohc.conf) considering your operation.
