G.2 Replicated disk installation of Application Server (In Linux)

Application Server and Service Platform support installation by using JP1/SC/DPM to replicate the disk. You can use the replicated disk installation functionality of JP1/SC/DPM, and the replication functionality based on image filing provided in the virtual environment.

Note that there are prerequisites that apply when installing the following component software by using JP1/SC/DPM to replicate the disk. Check the following prerequisites before performing a replicated disk installation.

To perform a replicated disk installation of Application Server:

Procedure

  1. Set up Application Server on the disk replication source.

On the disk replication source on which you installed Application Server, first set up the system environment. You can then customize various settings and set up business applications.

  2. For each piece of component software of Application Server and Service Platform, perform the preparatory work required for the replicated disk installation.

For details on the work you need to perform, see Work to perform before replication for each piece of component software in I.4 Notes on replicated disk installation and on using the replication functionality provided by the virtual platform (In Linux).

  3. Perform the replicated disk installation using JP1/SC/DPM.

For details on the operations for installation by using JP1/SC/DPM to replicate the disk and how to perform the operations, see the documentation for JP1/ServerConductor/Deployment Manager. For details on the replication functionality based on image filing provided in the virtual environment, see the documentation for the virtualization software.

  4. For each piece of component software of Application Server and Service Platform, perform the follow-up work required for the replicated disk installation.

For details on the work you need to perform, see Work to perform after replication for each piece of component software in I.4 Notes on replicated disk installation and on using the replication functionality provided by the virtual platform (In Linux).

  5. On the machine that connects to the destination machine of replicated disk installation, customize various settings to suit the system requirements.

The following are some examples of these settings. Change the values according to the system requirements.

    • The configuration of the load balancer allocated to the front end of the system configuration

    • DBMS-related settings

    • Settings related to the J2EE servers or Web container servers allocated to the back end in the system configuration
