4.1.12 Setting environment variables of the logical server

When using Management Server, you can set environment variables in the logical server at the following definition locations. Implement these settings on each host. For check points when setting environment variables of the logical server, see 4.1.13 Check points on setting environment variables of the logical server

  1. user.env.variable parameter of the Easy Setup definition file or the Configuration Change definition file, or Setting Environment Variable window of the management portal.

  2. adminagent.xml(Administration Agent setup file)

  3. Environment variable of OS (System environment variable for Windows, environment variable in the shell that starts the Administration Agent for UNIX)

When identical environment variables are set in the respective definition locations, then these variables are set in the logical server in the sequence of 1, 2, 3.

The environment variables are set in 2.adminagent.xml at the time of installation. Even if you set the environment variables set in 2.adminagent.xml; in 3.Environment variable of OS, the settings are not enabled. Therefore, we recommend that you set the environment variables of logical server in 1.Easy Setup definition file, Configuration Change definition file, Management portal) or 2.adminagent.xml.
