uCosminexus Application Server System Setup and Operation Guide

4.1.3 Setting Component Container administrator (For UNIX)

For UNIX, a super user can perform operations such as setup, start, and stop. However, even a general user can perform these operations, if he is granted the required permission. This user is called as Component Container Administrator. With this, even a general user can setup and operate the system. Implement these settings on each host (host for allocating the J2EE Server).

This subsection describes the procedure for setting up Component Container Administrator. When you set up Component Container Administrator, you need to perform operations before and after a new installation or update installation. For details on the notes on setting up Component Container Administrator, see 4.1.4 Notes on setting Component Container administrator (For UNIX).

  1. Log in to Application Server with the root permission (superuser).

  2. Register the group (Component Container Administrator group) to which Component Container Administrator will be registered.

For details on how to register a group, see the OS documentation.

  3. Register Component Container Administrator to the group that was registered in step 2.

For details on how to register Administrator, see the OS documentation.

  4. Implement new installation or update installation.

    For new installation

For AIX, see 2.2.3 Installing new Application Server (In AIX), and for Linux, see 2.2.4 Installing new Application Server (In Linux).

    For update installation

See Appendix F.2 Update installation of Application Server (In UNIX).

  5. Change the owner and the group of the Component Container installation directory to Component Container Administrator and Component Container Administrator group that were registered in step 2 and 3 respectively.

  6. Execute the cjenvsetup command to set up Component Container Administrator.

The setup of Component Container Administrator is complete. After the setup is completed, excluding some operations, the operations that can be implemented by Component Container Administrator cannot be implemented by the superuser. Implement the operations such as setting up, starting, and stopping the J2EE servers and batch servers with Component Container Administrator.
