3.1.2 Checking the operational status of system (when using GUI)

After starting the system operation, check the operational status to confirm whether the logical servers such as J2EE servers are operating properly. Use the management portal to check the operational status of the system. In the management portal, you can check the operational status in management domain unit, host unit, and logical server unit. In the case of the logical server unit, you can check the operational status even in the logical server unit type.

Organization of this subsection

(1) Startup and login of the management portal

Once you have logged in to the management portal, proceed to (2) Checking the operational status of the logical server in management domain, (3) Checking the operational status of the logical server in host, or (4) checking the operational status of each logical server.

  1. Start the Web browser, connect to http://localhost:28080/mngsvr/index.jsp, and then start the management portal.

  2. Enter "admin" in the management user ID on the Login to Management Server window, and then click the Login button.

(2) Checking the operational status of the logical server in management domain

  1. Click the Monitoring logical Server on the Management Portal window.

  2. Click DefaultDomain on the Server View tab.

    The operational status of all the logical servers in the management domain is displayed on the Status Monitoring of the logical Server window.

  3. Click Logical Server Name anchor on the Status Monitoring of the Logical Server window.

    The operational status of the selected logical server type is displayed in the Monitoring the Operation Information of Server type window. For example, if you select logical J2EE server in Types of the logical server and J2EE Server in Types of server, Status Monitoring of J2EE Server window is displayed.

(3) Checking the operational status of the logical server in host

  1. Click Monitoring of the logical server on the Management Portal window.

  2. Click Host-Host name on the Host View tab.

    The operational status of all logical servers in the host is displayed in the Status Monitoring of the logical Server window.

(4) Checking the operational status of each logical server

  1. Click Operation monitoring of the logical server on the Management Portal window.

  2. Click DefaultDomain - Logical server type - Server type in the Server View tab.

    The operational status of the selected logical server is displayed in the Status Monitoring of Server Type window. For example, if you select logical J2EE server in Types of the logical server and J2EE Server in Types of server, the Status Monitoring of J2EE Server window is displayed.

  3. Click Logical server name anchor on Status Monitoring of Server Type window.

    Operational status of the selected logical server type is displayed in the Monitoring the Operation Information of Server type window. For example, if you select logical J2EE server in Types of the logical server, J2EE Server in Types of server and MyJ2EEServer in Logical server name, the Monitoring the Operation Information of J2EE Server window is displayed.

    Monitoring the Operation Information of Server Type window can also be displayed by clicking DefaultDomain - Logical server type - Server type - Logical server name in the Server view tab.
