7.9.2 Task setup procedure

This section describes the procedures for using Windows Task Scheduler to enable and disable tasks, change a task execution schedule, and delete tasks.

Organization of this subsection

(1) Enabling a task

By default, all Asset Console tasks created in Windows Task Scheduler are disabled. To use a task, you must enable it. You can disable any task that you are not using.

In addition, to use a task, see Appendix G. Notes on Executing Asset Console Commands and Tasks.

To enable or disable a task registered in Task Scheduler:

  1. Start Task Scheduler.

  2. Select the task that you want to enable or disable.

  3. From the Actions menu, select Enable.

    To disable the task, select Disable.

The task is enabled or disabled. The result (return value) of task execution can be confirmed in Last Run Result in the list of tasks.

The table below shows the Run setting for each task.

The notations WINDOWS and INSTALL in the table correspond to the following folders:

(2) Changing a task schedule

You can change a task's execution date and time. You can also add a schedule.

(3) Deleting a task

To delete an unneeded task:

  1. Start Task Scheduler.

  2. Select the task you wish to delete, and then from the Actions menu, select Delete.

    The selected task is deleted.

(4) Task execution results

You can check the execution results (return values) of tasks in Last Run Result in the list of tasks that is displayed in Task Scheduler.
