6.2.2 Multi-server configuration

The figure below shows an example of the basic system configuration for an asset management system linked to JP1/IT Desktop Management 2 - Manager which is in a multi-server configuration. This example shows a configuration where two asset management servers connect to the management relay servers respectively and acquire the asset information on the managed computers.

In addition to the notes on the basic system configuration, the following points should be noted about your system configuration:

Asset management server

An asset management server must be connected to a management server to manage asset information. For example, when you want to manage asset information by using the management relay server, connect the management relay server to the asset management server as shown in the above system configuration example. Before configuring the system, consider which management server is to be connected to which asset management server in the system configuration.

Primary management server and management relay server (management server)

Data whose language is different from the OS language for the asset management server might be garbled. Therefore, set OS languages for the management server, computers under the management server, and the asset management server to be in the combination shown in the following table.
