4.5.1 Points to note before uninstalling PFM - Agent for Platform
Note the following points when uninstalling PFM - Agent for Platform.
- Organization of this subsection
(1) Notes on the OS user permission required for uninstallation
To uninstall PFM - Agent for Platform, you must do so from an account that has the superuser permission.
(2) Notes on the network
Even when you uninstall Performance Management programs, the port numbers defined in the services file are not deleted.
(3) Notes on programs
-
If you uninstall PFM - Agent for Platform while another Performance Management program or service is running, or while another program that might reference Performance Management files is running, files and directories of PFM - Agent may still remain. In this case, manually delete all files and directories under the /opt/jp1pc/agtu directory.
-
If PFM - Base and PFM - Agent are both installed on a host, you cannot uninstall PFM - Base until you uninstall PFM - Agent. In this case, first uninstall PFM - Agent and then PFM - Base. Likewise, if PFM - Manager and PFM - Agent are both installed on a host, you must first uninstall PFM - Agent and then PFM - Manager.
-
When uninstallation is performed during the following circumstances, some files or directories might remain. If any residual files remain, go to /opt/jp1pc and delete the instagt7.ini, the agt7 directory and its contents.
If you were using the service in a logical host environment, also go to <environment-directory>/jp1pc and delete the agt7 directory and its contents.
- When a JP1/PFM program or service is running
- /etc/hitachi_x64setup is run while the current directory is in /opt/jp1pc.
- A link is pasted to /opt/jp1pc, and a PFM program is installed.
- Deletion of a logical host environment fails.
(4) Notes on services
If you uninstall only PFM - Agent, the information on the services that can be displayed using the jpctool service list command is not deleted. For details about how to delete service information, see the section on service deletion in the chapter explaining installation and setup in the JP1/Performance Management Planning and Configuration Guide.
(5) Other notes
Before uninstalling Performance Management programs from a host on which PFM - Web Console is installed, close all browser windows.
