Check the following:

• Are there multiple services with the same instance name specified?

• Is the service already running?

• Is the physical host name the same as the logical host name in a cluster system?

  The service cannot be started in a cluster system if the logical and physical hosts have the same name. Make sure that the physical and logical hosts have different names.
