Common Section

Common Msglog Size

Specifies the size of the file that stores the common message log in kilobytes.

• Specifiable values: 4 to 32768

• Default: 8192

• (For a new installation, the default is 8192; for an upgrade installation, the default is the value specified before the upgrade.)

If the specified value is not a numeric value or is outside the specifiable range, the default value is set.

Multiple Alarm Table Bind

Specifies whether to enable the function for binding an alarm to multiple alarm tables.

The specifiable values are 0 (disables) or 1 (enables).

The default value is 1. If this label is not specified, or its value is invalid, it is set to 0.

Display Product Name

Displays the settings information about the function for displaying the product name.

Do not edit the value of this label. To verify or change the value of this setting, use the jpcconf prodname command. For details, see Chapter 3. Commands.

Alarm Message Mode

Specifies whether to enable the function for measurement value output at alarm recovery.

The specifiable values are 0 (disables) or 1 (enables).

The default value is 1. If this label is not specified, or its value is invalid, it is set to 0.

Auto Alarm Bind Mode

Specifies whether to enable the auto alarm bind function.

The specifiable values are 0 (disables) or 1 (enables).

The default value is 1.

JP1 Event Double Quote

Specifies whether to enclose a JP1 user event message with quotation marks. Note that this setting takes effect only for UNIX.

The specifiable values are 0 (does not enclose) or 1 (encloses).

The default value is 1.

Common Msglog Type

Specifies the output format of the common message log for linking with the log file trapping function of JP1/Base.

The specifiable value is either of the following values:

• 0: Sequential file format

• 1: Wrap-around file format

The default value is 0.

NS Status Mode

Displays the settings information about the status management function.

Do not edit the value of this label. To verify or change the value of this setting, use the jpcconf stat command. For details, see Chapter 3. Commands.

NS IPv6 Mode

Displays the settings information about the network configuration.

Do not edit the value of this label. To verify or change the value of this setting, use the jpcconf ipv6 command. For details, see Chapter 3. Commands.

Get Host Mode

Specifies the acquisition method for the physical host name in the function for setting monitoring host names.

The specifiable values are as follows.

Note that the value of this label must be changed by using the jpcconf host hostmode command rather than edited. For details, see Chapter 3. Commands.

In Windows:

• 0: A host name is acquired by using the hostname command.

• 2: A host name is acquired by using the alias name.

In UNIX:

• 0: A host name is acquired by using the uname command.

• 1: A host name is acquired by using the hostname command.

• 2: A host name is acquired by using the alias name.

The default value is 0.

Host Name

Displays the name of a host in the environment where the Performance Management program runs. The host name is set automatically.

Do not edit the value of this label.

Host Alias Name

Displays the alias name of the environment where the Performance Management program runs.

Do not edit the value of this label.

Correlator Startup Mode

Specifies whether to use the Correlator quick startup function in PFM - Manager.

The specifiable values are 0 (does not use) or 1 (uses).

The default value is 1. However, for an overwrite installation, when this label is not described, the default value is 0.

Note that the value of this label does not need to be specified for PFM - Base.

If the specified value is outside the specifiable range, it is assumed to be 0.

If you specify 1, the following agent events are output:

• State change (Unconfirmed)

• State information

• State information (Unconfirmed)

Retry Getting Alarm Status

When the Correlator service was not able to correctly confirm the alarm status of the agent due to an error like a communication error, specifies whether to reconfirm the alarm status next time an alarm event is received from the agent.

The specifiable values are 0 (does not reconfirm) or 1 (reconfirms).

The default value is 1.

If the specified value is outside the specifiable range, it is assumed that 1 is specified.

If you specify 1, the following agent events are output:

• State change (Unconfirmed)

• State information

• State information (Unconfirmed)

Note that when the Correlator quick startup function is enabled, the alarm status is reconfirmed regardless of whether or not this label is enabled. For details about the Correlator quick startup function, see the chapter on troubleshooting in the JP1/Performance Management User's Guide.

Business Group Monitor Mode

Specifies whether to use the access control feature based on business groups.

The specifiable values are 0 (does not use) or 1 (uses).

The default value is 0.

If the specified value is outside the specifiable range, an error message is output and the PFM - Manager service fails to start.

Agent Remote Protection

Specifies whether to enable the option for restricting Agent host remote operation. The specifiable values are 0 (disables) or 1 (enables).

The default value is 0.

If the specified value is outside the specifiable range, it is assumed that 0 is specified.

Service List Protection

Specifies whether to enable the option for restricting the viewing of service information from Agent hosts. The specifiable values are 0 (disables) or 1 (enables).

The default value is 0.

If the specified value is outside the specifiable range, it is assumed that 0 is specified.

Prioritize Manager Startup Communication

Specifies whether to prioritize the processing for starting the PFM - Manager service. The specifiable values are 0 (do not prioritize) and 1 (prioritize).

The default value is 1.

When this label is not described for an overwrite installation, it is assumed that 1 is specified.

If a non-specifiable value is specified, it is assumed that 1 is specified.

When 0 is specified, requests from PFM - Agent and PFM -RM will be received during the startup of the PFM - Manager service. Accordingly, PFM - Agent and PFM -RM will switch from the standalone mode to the normal mode earlier. If, however, the system has a large number of PFM - Agent and PFM - RM hosts, the PFM - Manager service might fail to start. For this reason, we recommend that you specify 1.

Multiple Manager

Displays whether the multiple monitoring configuration is used. The meanings of the values are as follows:

• 0: Cannot be used

• 1: Can be used

The default value is 0.

Do not edit the value of this label. To change the value of this setting, use the jpcconf mgrhost define command. For details, see Chapter 3. Commands.

Remote Action Control

Specifies the remote action control mode. The specifiable values are as follows:

• all: All-execution mode

• one: One-sided execution mode

• primary: Primary execution mode

The values are case sensitive. The default value is all. If a non-specifiable value is specified, it is assumed that all is specified.

Alarm Command Wait Mode

Specifies whether to put the execution of alarm commands on hold when a command that cannot be executed concurrently is being executed in PFM - Manager. The specifiable values are as follows:

• 0: Do not put the execution on hold (Do not execute alarm commands if a command that cannot be executed concurrently is being executed)

• 1: Put the execution on hold

The default value is 1.

If this label is not specified, or its value is invalid, it is set to 0.

Alarm Command Timeout

Specifies the number of seconds for which the execution of alarm commands should be put on hold in PFM - Manager when the value of Alarm Command Wait Mode is 1.

• Specifiable values: 0 to 3600

• Default: 300

If the specified value is outside the specifiable range, the default value is set.

Historical Data Collection Priority Mode

Specifies whether to enable the historical data collection priority function for all Agent Collector services and Remote Monitor Collector services. The historical data collection priority function prioritizes the collection of historical data over the display of real-time reports.

The specifiable values are as follows:

• 0: Disable

• 1: Enable

The default value is 0.

If this setting exists in the Agent Collector × Section^#1 section, the value of the setting in that section is prioritized.

Random Retry Mode

Specifies whether attempts to connect the monitoring agent to the monitoring manager are to be made at random intervals (the dispersion of the reconnection).

The specifiable values are as follows:

• 0: Do not use random intervals

• 1: Use random intervals

The default value is 1.

If the specified value is outside the specifiable range, the default value is set.

Monitoring Suspend Mode

Specifies whether to enable the monitoring suspension function.

The specifiable values are as follows:

• 0: Disable

• 1: Enable

The default value is 1.

If this label is not specified, or its value is invalid, it is set to 0.

Auto Sync for Suspend Setting

Specifies whether to automatically synchronize the settings information to the secondary PFM - Manager, when monitoring is suspended or resumed for the primary PFM - Manager in a multiple monitoring environment and when the value of Monitoring Suspend Mode is 1.

The specifiable values are as follows:

• 0: Disable

• 1: Enable

The default value is 0.

Suppress Action Execution

Specifies whether to enable the function for suppressing the execution of remote actions when an alarm is returned to normal by user operation.

The specifiable values are as follows:

• 0: Disable (Behavior of versions earlier than 12-00)

• 1: Enable

The default value is 1. However, this label is added with the initial value of 1 during a new installation or with the initial value of 0 during an upgraded installation.

If this label is not included (the label name is case insensitive) or the value is not acceptable, the message KAVE00583-W is output and the default value takes effect.

Action Log Section

Action Log Mode

Specifies whether to output action logs.

The specifiable values are 0 (does not output) or 1 (outputs).

The default value is 0.

If the specified value is outside the specifiable range, an error message is output and no action log is output.

Action Log Dir^#2

Specifies a directory to which action logs are output with its absolute path.

For a logical host environment, specify a directory on the shared disk. If the specified directory is not on the shared disk, an action log is output to each physical host constituting the logical host.

• Specifiable values: 1 to 185-byte character string

• Default: Not specified

If this label is not specified, the following directory is set.

For physical hosts:

• Windows:installation-folder\auditlog\

• UNIX:/opt/jp1pc/auditlog/

For logical hosts:

• Windows: environment-directory\jp1pc\auditlog\

• UNIX: environment-directory/jp1pc/auditlog/

If the specified path exceeds the maximum length, or an attempt to access the directory fails, an error message is output to the common log and no action log is output.

Action Log Num

Specifies the maximum total number of action log files (the number of stored files). The total number indicates the total number of the current output files and shift files of action log files.

• Specifiable values: Integer from 2 to 10

• Default: Not specified

If this label is not specified, 5 is set.

If the specified value is not a numeric value, an error message is output and 5 is set.

If the specified value is outside the specifiable range, an error message is output and an integer value from 2 to 10 that is the nearest to the specified value is set.

Action Log Size

Specifies the size of an action log file in kilobytes.

• Specifiable values: Integer from 512 to 2096128

• Default: Not specified

If this label is not specified, 2048 is set.

If the specified value is not a numeric value, an error message is output and 2048 is set.

If the specified value is outside the specifiable range, an error message is output and an integer value from 512 to 2096128 that is the nearest to the specified value is set.

NS Keepalive Mode

Specifies operation from when Performance Management terminates communication until the line is disconnected.

The specifiable value is as follows.

• 0: Immediately after communication is terminated, the line is disconnected.

• 3: After communication is terminated, the line is held for the number of seconds specified for the NS Connection Timeout label.

The default value is 3.

Action Handler Section

Action Execution Count Limitation

Specifies whether to enable the concurrent execution controller for actions. This controller limits the number command actions (remote and local actions) that can be executed concurrently by one Action Handler.

The specifiable values are as follows:

• 0: Disable

• 1: Enable

The default value is 1.

If this label is not specified, or its value is invalid, it is set to 0.

Action Concurrent Execution Count

Specifies the maximum number of command actions (actions) that can be executed concurrently. When the maximum number is reached, subsequent actions to be executed are put on hold and then executed sequentially.

• Specifiable values: 1 to 48

• Default: 10

If the specified value is not a numeric value or is outside the specifiable range, the default value is set.

Action Execution Queue Count

Specifies the maximum number of actions to be executed that can be put on hold. When the maximum number is reached, subsequent actions are output to the event log and the trace log, and then discarded.

• Specifiable values: 1 to 2400

• Default: 1000

If the specified value is not a numeric value or is outside the specifiable range, the default value is set.

Action Execution Time Limit

Specifies the time until an action is forcibly stopped for an action that remains unfinished for a long time in seconds.

• Specifiable values: 0 to 900

• Default: 300

If the specified value is not a numeric value or is outside the specifiable range, the default value is set.

It is recommended that the default value be used for this label, because actions in progress might be forcibly stopped if a smaller value is specified.

Agent Collector × Section^#1

NS Cache Maintenance Time

Specifies the minimum value of the record collection interval of PFM - Agent and PFM - RM in seconds.

• Specifiable values: 0 to 604800

• Default: 70 or 360^#3

If the specified value is not a numeric value or is outside the specifiable range, the default value is set.

Specifies the number of retries for the communication initialization processing.

Historical Data Collection Priority Mode

Specifies whether to enable the historical data collection priority function for each applicable Agent Collector or Remote Monitor Collector service individually. The historical data collection priority function prioritizes the collection of historical data over the display of real-time reports.

Specifies the name of the event source when NNM is used as the SNMP manager.

SNMP_Version

Specifies whether to use SNMPv1 compliant mode or compatibility mode for SNMP traps.
