JP1 Version 12 JP1/Performance Management Planning and Configuration Guide

5.4.3 Specifying communication line disconnection settings

Performance Management does not disconnect the communication line for 70 seconds after the communication with the connection destination ends. Therefore, keep this setting in mind when you use Performance Management in an environment that charges by connection time.

To edit the jpccomm.ini file in order to disconnect the line immediately after the communication ends:

  1. Stop Performance Management programs and services.

Stop all Performance Management programs and services that are running.

  2. Use a text editor or a similar tool to open the jpccomm.ini file.

  3. Change the connection mode of the communication line.

Change the following label value in all sections in the jpccomm.ini file.

    NS Keepalive Mode=0
  4. Save and then close the jpccomm.ini file.

  5. Start Performance Management programs and services.

Note:

The line is always connected between PFM - Web Console and PFM - Manager in order to periodically communicate with each other. For that reason, Hitachi does not recommend that you use networks such as a WAN environment for communications between hosts because the environment usage fees are based on the communication time or the volume.
