5.3.16 Changing the port number settings

You can change the port number settings specified with Performance Management as follows:

Organization of this subsection

(1) Changing the port number setting specified for agents or action handlers

You can change the port number setting specified for agents or action handlers as follows:

(a) Changing the port number setting specified for the Performance Management services running on PFM - Manager or PFM - Base version 11-01 or later without changing the port number setting specified for the Name Server to which they connect

  1. Stop the Performance Management services for which you want to change the port number setting.

    If there are any Performance Management programs and services running, stop them by using the jpcspm stop command. If you are using a cluster system, first stop the cluster software.

  2. Execute the following command to change the port number setting.

    jpcconf port define -only

    This command makes one of the following changes:

    • Fix the port number.

    • Change the fixed port number.

    • Cancel the fixed port number.

  3. Start the Performance Management services for which you have changed the port number setting.

(b) Changing the port number setting specified for both the Performance Management services running on PFM - Manager or PFM - Base version 11-01 or later and the Name Server to which they connect

  1. Stop all Performance Management services running on the Agent host for which you want to change the port number setting.

    If there are any Performance Management programs and services running, stop them by using the jpcspm stop command. If you are using a cluster system, first stop the cluster software.

  2. Execute the following command to change the port number setting.

    jpcconf port define

    This command makes one of the following changes:

    • Fix the port number.

    • Change the fixed port number.

    • Cancel the fixed port number.

  3. Start all Performance Management services running on the Agent host for which you have changed the port number setting.

(2) Changing the port number setting specified for the monitoring managers

You can change the port number setting specified for the monitoring managers as follows:

(a) Changing the port setting specified for the Master Manager or Correlator for which the port number has been fixed

If you are changing the port number setting specified for the Master Manager or Correlator with the fixed port number running on the monitoring manager host on which PFM - Manager version 11-50 or later is installed, you need to restart the services running on the Agent hosts on which PFM - Base version 11-50 or later is installed.

  1. Log out of the PFM - Web Console.

    Log out of the PFM - Web Console that accesses the PFM - Manager for which you want to change the port number setting.

  2. Stop all Performance Management services running on those Agent hosts accessing PFM - Manager on which PFM - Base version 11-50 or later is installed.

  3. Stop all Performance Management services running on the PFM - Manager hosts.

    If there are any Performance Management programs and services running, stop them by using the jpcspm stop command. If you are using a cluster system, first stop the cluster software.

  4. Execute the following command to change the port number setting.

    jpcconf port define

    This command makes one of the following changes:

    • Change the fixed port number.

    • Cancel the fixed port number.

  5. Start all Performance Management services running on the PFM - Manager hosts.

  6. Start all Performance Management services running on the Agent hosts accessing PFM - Manager.

  7. Log on to PFM - Web Console.

(b) Changing the port setting specified for the Master Manager or Correlator for which the port number has not been fixed

  1. Log out of the PFM - Web Console.

    Log out of the PFM - Web Console that accesses the PFM - Manager for which you want to change the port number setting.

  2. Stop all Performance Management services running on the PFM - Manager hosts.

    If there are any Performance Management programs and services running, stop them by using the jpcspm stop command. If you are using a cluster system, first stop the cluster software.

  3. Execute the following command to change the port number setting.

    jpcconf port define

    This command changes the fixed port number.

  4. Start all Performance Management services running on the PFM - Manager hosts.

  5. Log on to PFM - Web Console.
