5.2.2 Uninstallation procedures

Important

If PFM - Web Console is uninstalled, the initial settings file (config.xml) is deleted. When reinstalling after uninstalling PFM - Web Console and using the initial settings file (config.xml) before the uninstallation, back up the initial settings file (config.xml) before the uninstallation and restore it after installing PFM - Web Console.

Organization of this subsection

(1) Uninstallation procedure for Performance Management programs

  1. Log on to the host from which you want to uninstall the Performance Management programs as the root user, or use the su command to assume root user privileges.

  2. Stop the Performance Management programs and services on the local host.

    Display the service information and make sure that the services are not running. Stop all Performance Management programs and services that are running on the local host. All services on the physical host and logical host must be stopped.

    For details about how to stop services and displaying service information, see the chapter that describes starting and stopping Performance Management in the JP1/Performance Management User's Guide.

  3. Execute the following command to start Hitachi Program Product Installer:

    In Linux:

    /etc/hitachi_x64setup

    In OSs other than Linux:

    /etc/hitachi_setup

    Hitachi Program Product Installer starts and the initial window appears.

  4. From the initial window, enter D.

    A list of programs that can be uninstalled is displayed.

  5. Select the Performance Management program to uninstall, and then enter D.

    The selected program is uninstalled. To select a program, move the cursor to the desired program and then select it by pressing the space key.

    To delete PFM - Manager or PFM - Base, you must uninstall all other Performance Management programs beforehand.

  6. Upon a successful uninstallation, enter Q.

    This returns to the initial window of Hitachi Program Product Installer.

(2) Uninstallation procedure for the PFM - Web Console program

Enter the following command to uninstall the PFM - Web Console program:

In Linux:
/etc/hitachi_x64setup
In OSs other than Linux:
/etc/hitachi_setup

Choose D from the main menu to display the following window, from which you can delete programs.

F) Forward B) Backward J) Down K) Up Space) Select/Unselect D) Delete Q) Quit

Move the cursor to the program you want to uninstall, and then select the program with the space bar. The characters <@> appear to the left of the program you selected. You can also select multiple programs.

When you have selected the programs you want to uninstall, type D. The following message appears at the bottom of the screen:

Delete PP? (y: delete, n: cancel)==>

Enter y or Y to begin uninstallation. If you enter n or N, the installation process is canceled and control is returned to the program deletion window. You can also enter Q to return to the main menu.

(a) Notes on uninstalling the PFM - Web Console program

  • If you uninstall the PFM - Web Console program while any of the following conditions apply, some files or directories might remain in the system. Manually delete the /opt/jp1pcwebcon directory and any files and directories remaining in the directory.

    • The service is running

    • The current directory is under /opt/jp1pcwebcon when /etc/hitachi_x64setup or /etc/hitachi_setup is executed

    • A link was made to /opt/jp1pcwebcon/ when installing PFM - Web Console

    • Attempts to delete the logical host environment fail
