4.4.8 Setup and unsetup of Store 2.0
- Organization of this subsection
(1) Setup procedure
Store 2.0 can be used with version 08-11 or later of PFM - Manager or PFM - Base combined with the monitoring agent that is version 08-00 or later of PFM - Agent or PFM - RM. Store 2.0 is activated by default when you perform a new installation of PFM - Agent version 08-11 or PFM - RM.
- Note:
-
Store 2.0 can only be used with the Store database of the Agent Store or Remote Monitor Store service. You cannot use Store 2.0 with the Store database of the Master Store service, which only supports Store 1.0. Store 1.0 cannot be used with the Remote Monitor Store service.
The setup procedure for Store 2.0 depends on the version of PFM - Agent and the method of installation. If you install version 08-11 or later of a Performance Management product into an environment that uses Store 1.0, the environment will continue to use Store 1.0. To migrate to Store 2.0, you need to execute the setup command for the Store database.
The following table lists the availability of Store 2.0 for each version of PFM - Agent, and how to implement it.

For details about the procedure for setting up PFM - Agent to use Store 2.0, see the PFM - Agent manuals.
- Note:
-
The data retention conditions for PD and PL-type records are set differently for each version of the Store database. When you migrate from Store 1.0 to Store 2.0, data that does not meet the data retention conditions of Store 2.0 is deleted. The default retention period in Store 2.0 differs depending on the PFM - Agent or PFM - RM.
For example, in PFM - Agent that the default retention period has been set to 10 days, suppose that Store 1.0 stores 10,000 PD records for the 365 days from January 1st 2006 to December 31st 2006. When you migrate to Store 2.0, the default retention period of 10 days will result in 355 days of data being deleted.
For this reason, before migrating to Store 2.0, use the jpctool db dump command to output the data from Store 1.0.
PI record data remains the same after migration.
(2) Unsetup procedure
Use the jpcconf db vrset -ver 1.0 command to perform an unsetup of Store 2.0. This process initializes the data in the Store database and reverts the Store database to Store 1.0.
You can execute the jpcconf db vrset -ver 1.0 command in either the interactive mode or the non-interactive mode. For details about the jpcconf db vrset command, see the chapter that describes commands in the manual JP1/Performance Management Reference.
- Note:
-
Performing an unsetup of Store 2.0 initializes the data in the Store database. For this reason, use the jpctool db dump command to output the data in the database before reverting to Store 1.0.
