4.4.5 Changing IP address settings

Organization of this subsection

(1) Changing the IP address of the PFM - Manager host

  1. Log out from PFM - Web Console.

    Log out from all PFM - Web Console hosts that connect to the PFM - Manager host for which you intend to change the IP address.

  2. Stop all Performance Management services on the PFM - Manager host.

    Stop all Performance Management programs and services on the PFM - Manager host for which you intend to change the IP address. To stop the services, use the jpcspm stop command. If the programs are running on a cluster system, stop them from the cluster software.

  3. Change the IP address of the PFM - Manager host.

    Change the IP address of the PFM - Manager host.

  4. Configure the network.

    Modify the jpchosts file, hosts file, and DNS server settings so that name resolution is possible between the PFM - Manager host whose IP address you changed and the following hosts: all PFM - Agent hosts, the PFM - RM host, the PFM - Base host, the PFM - Web Console host, the PFM - Manager host, and the JP1/SLM host.

  5. Specify the PFM - Manager local host name.

    If an IP address is specified for the java.rmi.server.hostname label in the definition file for the tool launcher (jpcvsvr.ini) of the PFM - Manager host, update this IP address.

  6. Restart the Performance Management services on the PFM - Manager host.

    Start the Performance Management programs and services on the PFM - Manager host. If the programs are running on a cluster system, stop them from the cluster software.

  7. Log on to PFM - Web Console.

    Log on to PFM - Web Console.

(2) Changing the IP address of the PFM - Web Console host

To change the IP address of the PFM - Web Console host:

  1. Stop all Performance Management services on the PFM - Web Console host.

    Stop all Performance Management programs and services on the PFM - Web Console host for which you intend to change the IP address by using the jpcwstop command. If running the programs on a cluster system, stop them from the cluster software.

  2. Change the IP address of the PFM - Web Console host.

    Change the IP address of the PFM - Web Console host.

  3. Configure the network.

    • Modify the jpchosts file, hosts file, and DNS server settings so that name resolution is possible between the connection-destination PFM - Manager host, the PFM - Web Console host whose IP address you changed, and the JP1/SLM host.

    • Allow HTTP communication from the monitoring console to the host whose IP address you changed.

    • If the integrated management product (JP1/IM) is linked and Performance Management reports are set to be displayed from events in the Central Console, configure the name resolution setting. You must enable name resolution between the Central Console host and the PFM - Web Console host whose IP address you changed. Modify the hosts file and the DNS server settings to enable name resolution for the PFM - Web Console host name specified in the performance report definition file (performance.conf).

    • If the job management product (JP1/AJS3) is linked, enable name resolution between the JP1/AJS3 - Web Console host and the PFM - Web Console host whose IP address you changed. Modify the hosts file and the DNS server settings to enable name resolution for the PFM - Web Console host name specified in the JP1/AJS3 - Web Console environment settings file (ajs3web.conf).

  4. Specify the PFM - Web Console local host name.

    If an IP address is specified for the host name of the PFM - Web Console in the initialization file (config.xml) for the PFM - Web Console host, update this IP address.

  5. Restart the Performance Management services on the PFM - Web Console host.

    Start the Performance Management programs and services on the PFM - Web Console host. If the programs are running on a cluster system, stop them from the cluster software.

  6. Log on to PFM - Web Console.

    Connect to PFM - Web Console from the monitoring console, using the new IP address (or host name) in the URL.

(3) Changing the IP address of the PFM - Base host

To change the IP address of the PFM - Base host:

  1. Stop all Performance Management services on the PFM - Base host.

    Stop all Performance Management programs and services on the PFM - Base host for which you intend to change the IP address. To stop services, use the jpcspm stop command. If the programs are running on a cluster system, stop them from the cluster software.

  2. Change the IP address of the PFM - Base host.

    Change the IP address of the host where PFM - Base is installed.

  3. Configure the network.

    Modify the jpchosts file, hosts file, and DNS server settings so that name resolution is possible between the PFM - Base host whose IP address you changed and the following hosts: all PFM - Agent hosts, the PFM - RM host, the PFM - Base host, the PFM - Web Console host, and the PFM - Manager host.

  4. Restart the Performance Management services on the PFM - Base host.

    Start the Performance Management programs and services on the host where PFM - Base is installed. If the programs are running on a cluster system, stop them from the cluster software.

(4) Changing the IP address of the PFM - Agent or PFM - RM host

To change the IP address of the PFM - Agent or PFM - RM host:

  1. Stop all Performance Management services on the PFM - Agent or PFM - RM host.

    Stop all Performance Management programs and services on the PFM - Agent or PFM - RM host for which you intend to change the IP address. To stop services, use the jpcspm stop command. If the programs are running on a cluster system, stop them from the cluster software.

  2. Change the IP address of the PFM - Agent or PFM - RM host.

    Change the IP address of the host where PFM - Agent or PFM - RM is installed.

  3. Configure the network.

    Modify the jpchosts file, hosts file, and DNS server settings so that name resolution is possible between the PFM - Agent or PFM - RM host whose IP address you changed and the following hosts: all PFM - Agent hosts, the PFM - RM host, the PFM - Base host, the PFM - Web Console host, and the PFM - Manager host.

  4. Restart the Performance Management services on the PFM - Agent or PFM - RM host.

    Start the Performance Management programs and services on the host where PFM - Agent or PFM - RM is installed. If the programs are running on a cluster system, stop them from the cluster software.
