3.10.7 Notes on displaying real-time reports

When you specify display of real-time reports and collection of historical data at the same time, and the processing of the Performance Management services overlaps, only one of the tasks will be performed.

As a result, real-time reports might not be displayed at all or historical data might not be collected at all. If historical data is not collected, alarm evaluation cannot be performed for the data.

If this problem occurs, a KAVE00213-W message will be output to the common message log.

This problem occurs if both of the following conditions apply:

  1. Display of real-time reports and collection of historical data# are specified at the same time for a single agent instance.

  2. While a real-time report is being displayed or historical data is being collected, display of a real-time report or collection of historical data occurs.

Regardless of whether the data is stored in the Store database.

The following figure provides examples of this problem.

Make sure that the task of displaying a real-time report and the task of collecting historical data do not overlap for a single agent instance.

This problem can be avoided by making sure that the update interval of a real-time report and the interval for collecting of historical data do not overlap. The problem can be automatically prevented by enabling the function that prioritizes the collection of historical data over the display of real-time reports. For details about the method, see the chapter that describes troubleshooting in the JP1/Performance Management User's Guide.
