3.3.1 Alarm event data

When the performance data of a monitoring agent exceeds a threshold and reaches a critical state, Performance Management provides a function to warn specified staff, such as system administrators.

In Performance Management, this warning is called an alarm event. The alarm events issued by PFM - Agent or PFM - RM are sent to PFM - Manager on the connection destination. PFM - Manager integrally manages alarm events sent from PFM - Agent or PFM - RM.

Alarm events notify the system administrators by emails and send notification to the monitoring console that the system has reached a critical state. In Performance Management, this is called an action. The system also can automatically execute commands reporting that the system has reached a critical state when an alarm event occurs.

The Master Store service of PFM - Manager stores the alarm event data, as records of the Product Alarm record type (PA record type), into the Store database.
