1.1.3 Products provided by Performance Management

Performance Management provides the following four products required for operation monitoring:

• Monitoring manager (PFM - Manager)

  Performs integrated management of the operating status.

• Monitoring console server (PFM - Web Console)

  Outputs graphical reports and helps the user to configure Performance Management and analyze the operating status.

• Monitoring base (PFM - Base)

  The base program required to perform operation monitoring. PFM - Base performs tasks such as managing the collected operation monitoring data and outputting logs.

• Monitoring agent (PFM - Agent or PFM - RM)

  An agent that monitors the status of the OS and server programs.

  PFM - Agent is required for agent monitoring; and must be installed on the monitored server. PFM - RM is required for remote monitoring, but you do not need to install the program on the monitored server.
