5.20.3 IM Host Account page

The System Common Settings window has the IM Host Account page, which is displayed when JP1/IM - View is connected to the Windows version of JP1/IM - Manager. This page is not displayed when the IM configuration management viewer is connected to the UNIX version of JP1/IM - Manager. When you change the settings of the IM Host Account page, restart the JP1/IM - Manager service.

The following describes the items displayed on the IM Host Account page.

User name

Specify the user account that starts the collection process for remote monitoring. Specify a user who has Administrator permission on the host where JP1/IM - Manager is installed. Alphabetic characters are not case sensitive. The user name can use alphanumeric characters and symbols other than control characters. A character string having from 0 through 255 bytes can be specified. The previously specified user name is used as the initial value. If no user name has previously been specified, a blank is displayed.

This item cannot be omitted if there are entries in other text boxes on the page.

If the OS of the JP1/IM - Manager host is Windows Server 2008 R2, specify one of the values below for the IM host account. For cautionary notes that relate to the IM host account in the system common settings, see the release notes for JP1/IM - Manager.

If the UAC functionality is enabled:

Specify the built-in Administrator account on the JP1/IM - Manager host.

If the UAC functionality is disabled:

Specify a member of the Administrators group on the JP1/IM - Manager host.

Password

This text box specifies the password. Alphabetic characters are case sensitive. The password can use alphanumeric characters and symbols other than control characters. A character string having from 0 through 255 bytes can be specified. The previously specified password is used as the initial value, but the characters are masked by asterisks (*). If no password has previously been specified, a blank is displayed.

This item cannot be omitted if there are entries in text boxes other than User name.

Password confirmation

This text box specifies the password again for confirmation. The characters that can be used, the maximum length, and the default value are the same as those for the Password text box.

Domain name

This text box specifies the domain name. Alphabetic characters are not case sensitive. The domain name can use alphanumeric characters and symbols other than control characters. A character string having from 0 through 255 bytes can be specified. The previously specified domain name is used as the initial value. If no domain name has previously been specified, a blank is displayed.
