JP1 Version 12 JP1/Integrated Management 2 - Manager Overview and System Design Guide

3.6 Related node display function

Through the related node display function, JP1/IM manages the relations between monitoring targets (knowledge) to visualize how related nodes are linked to one another. Based on the IM management node selected in the integrated operation viewer, the IM management nodes (related nodes) matching one of the following conditions are displayed:

#

IM management node links are based on objects generated by plug-in files for linking with other products combined with information provided in theIM management node link definition file (imdd_nodeLink_def.conf). For details about the plug-in files see Chapter 4. User-created Plug-ins in the manual JP1/Integrated Management 2 - Manager Command, Definition File and API Reference.

For details about the IM management node link definition file (imdd_nodeLink_def.conf), see IM management node link definition file (imdd_nodeLink_def.conf) in Chapter 2. Definition Files in the manual JP1/Integrated Management 2 - Manager Command, Definition File and API Reference.

The IM management nodes (related nodes) matching one of the above-mentioned conditions are displayed on the Related node tab of the integrated operation viewer, with lines showing how these IM management nodes are related to one another. Displaying the relations between IM management nodes in a window facilitates sharing of know-how accumulated by skilled individuals across the system.

Figure 3‒15: Example of how related nodes are displayed

[Figure]

When you click an IM management node, the nodes related to the selected node are displayed. You can also view information that indicates how these nodes are related to one another, such as the target host of the job and the resource group name, as well as detailed information regarding the relations between nodes, such as jobs related to the target host, in the same window.

Relations displayed in the window are color-coded according to type. You can narrow down the relations to be displayed in the window by using the Relation line filter. The relation line filter items and their meanings are provided below.

When linked with JP1/AJS:
  • rootJobnetExecutionOrder: Relations that show the execution order of root jobnets

  • managerAgent: Relations between the managers and agents of JP1 products

  • rootJobnetAgent: Relations between root jobnets and AJS agents

  • sameNode: Relations between nodes having the same name

When linked with JP1/NNMi:
  • L2Connection: Relations between layer 2 connection lines managed by JP1/NNMi

When linked with JP1/OA:
  • Infrastructure: Relations between infrastructure resources managed by JP1/OA

When linked with JP1/SSO:
  • monitoringConfiguration: Relation between a product and a monitoring target in a monitoring product configuration

Linkage with JP1/PFM allows you to display how JP1/PFM - Manager and JP1/PFM - RM are related to the objects they are monitoring.

An IM management node corresponding to a parent or child in the IM management node tree is only displayed when the login user belongs to the same resource group the IM management node belongs to.
