4.2.1 Creating a domain

To create a domain:

  1. Log in to JP1/DH - Server.

  2. In the sidebar area, click Users & Groups.

    The Users & Groups window appears in the content area.

  3. Click All Users, and then select New Group.

    The New Group window appears.

    Group Name: (Japanese/Chinese) text box

    Enter a group name (domain name).

    The value entered here is displayed in the Japanese and Chinese windows.

    Once you create a group, you cannot change the group name.

    • You can enter no more than 200 characters.

    • You cannot use the following symbols: /\?*:|"<>#@^[]$.

    • You cannot enter a name consisting only of spaces or periods (.).

    Group Name: (English) text box

    Enter a group name (domain name).

    The value entered here is displayed in the English window.

    The lower-case version of the value entered here, with all the spaces removed, appears after the at mark (@) of the IDs assigned to the users under this domain.

    Once you create a group, you cannot change the group name.

    • You can enter no more than 50 alphanumeric characters and symbols.

    • You cannot use a space character or the following symbols: /\?*:|"<>#@^[]$.

    • You cannot enter a name consisting only of periods (.) or ending with a period (.).

    • You cannot use Windows reserved words (CON, PRN, AUX, CLOCK$, NUL, COM0, COM1, COM2, COM3, COM4, COM5, COM6, COM7, COM8, COM9, LPT0, LPT1, LPT2, LPT3, LPT4, LPT5, LPT6, LPT7, LPT8, LPT9).

    Parent Group drop-down list box

    Select a parent group to which the new group belongs.

    Select All Users.

    You cannot change the group type.

    Create Guests check box

    Set whether to permit or deny the use of the guest creation function. If this check box is cleared, the gust creation function cannot be used.

    A representative user can change this setting later.

    Download limit text box

    Enter the maximum amount of data that can be downloaded per month by the entire domain in the unit of MB.

    • The minimum specifiable value is 0, and the maximum specifiable value is 8,796,093,022,207.

    • A representative user can change this setting later.

    Download limit resets at text box

    Enter the date of the month on which the download limit count is reset.

    • The minimum specifiable value is 1, and the maximum specifiable value is 31.

    • If you enter 31 in this text box, the download limit count is reset at the end of each month.

    Download limit changes by representative users text box

    Set whether to permit or deny download limit changes by representative users.

    The default is accept. If you do not want to allow changes, clear this check box.

    Total Disk Space text box

    Enter the total disk space available to the entire domain in the unit of MB.

    • The minimum specifiable value is 0, and the maximum specifiable value is 8,796,093,022,207.

    Storage period check boxes

    Specify the maximum values for the storage period that a user can set when sending a file.

    The default is the maximum storage period set on the system.

    Limit Number Of Users text box

    Set the maximum number of users that can be registered by the entire domain.

    • The minimum specifiable value is 1, and the maximum specifiable value is 1,000,000.

    Sending To Unregistered Addresses check box

    Set whether to permit or deny the entire domain the use of the function that enables transmission of files to unregistered addresses. If you clear this check box, the entire domain is denied the use of this function.

    SSO(SAML) check boxes

    Set whether to use Single Sign-On authentication to access the system.

    • Idp(URL)

      Specify the URL used for Single Sign-On.

    • NameIdPolicyFormat

      Specify the policy format of the user identifier in the authentication response message for Single Sign-On authentication.

    Idp certificate text area

    Open the certificate in PEM format or metadata from the Idp using UTF-8 encoding, and copy and paste the contents into the text area.

  5. Click the Create button.

    Note

    If you want to create a new domain group whose settings are identical to those of an existing one, click the menu icon ([Figure]) beside the group you want to copy, and then select Copy Group. The New Group window appears, in which the original domain group settings are specified as the default settings for the new group. This group copy function allows you to easily create a group, especially when you want to create a new group with a unique name but with settings that are identical to those of an existing one.
