  • By default, the installer adds a definition to the services file so that cpamsgsrv can use port 22260. The port number must correspond with the port number that is defined for cpamsgsrv on the connected CPA Option for AJS3 host. If the services file already has a definition for port 22260, the installer adds another definition so that the service can use the smallest available port number greater than 22260, for example 22261. The installer might accidentally fail to add a definition to the services file. Before you can use the AJS3 linkage function, you need to ensure that a port number is defined and it corresponds with the port number that is defined on the connected CPA Option for AJS3 host.

  • You can change this port number to any number to suit your environment. However, the number must not conflict with those for other programs.

In addition, the OS dynamically assigns some port numbers, which must not be used by the user. Different OSs assign different numbers depending on their types and versions, and the port numbers may conflict with some default values of the product. If this happens, change the values to avoid the conflict.

For details on the port numbers dynamically assigned by your OS, see the manual of the OS.
