JP1 Version 12 JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 for Enterprise Applications Description, User's Guide and Reference

2.7.2 Notes on performing a soft shutdown of the SAP system

Even after you perform a "soft shutdown", which is one of the SAP system functions, the system continues to accept the execution of background jobs, InfoPackages, and process chains, and waits for these jobs to finish. If you want to avoid executing jobs from JP1/AJS3 for EAP after a soft shutdown, you must first stop the execution of the background jobs, InfoPackages, and process chains that are executed automatically (for example, in JP1/AJS3) or are executed directly by a command of JP1/AJS3 for EAP.
