1.3.1 Creating a background job
To create a job, use the jr3bjsub command. An ABAP program or an external program can be created as a job in the R/3 system. When the job is created, it is placed in the scheduled state.
When the job is created, the following variants can be specified as the job step information:

Variant
A variant is a set of input values to a program and it is stored in the R/3 system before the job is created.

Temporary variant
A temporary variant is a type of variant that is generated dynamically when the job is created.
You can also pre-check the variants for a specific program by using the jr3bjrep command. The variants are stored in the R/3 system.
You can use the jr3bjdel command to delete scheduled jobs.
