The probable causes are:

Temporary problem on the network

A temporary problem might have occurred on the network. If this message appears while you are performing an operation on a unit, check whether the operation has taken effect. If the operation does not take effect or if you are obtaining data, retry the operation.

Error in connection destination JP1/AJS3 - Manager

If this message appears frequently, an error might have occurred in JP1/AJS3 - Manager. Use log information, such as the Windows event log or the syslog file on the host of JP1/AJS3 - Manager, to examine the error. Then, correct the cause of the error according to the results. For details about the contents of the log file, see 1.2 Types of log information and storage locations in the manual JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Troubleshooting.

If this message appears immediately after you log in to the system when the connection destination host is a Windows host, a desktop heap might be too small at the connection destination host. Specify the REUSELOGON and LOGONSHMAX environment setting parameters to reduce consumption of the desktop heap at the connection destination host.

For details about the environment setting parameters, see 20.4.2 Details of the environment setting parameters for scheduler services in the JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Configuration Guide.

The host is not registered in the connection permission configuration file for the connection destination JP1/AJS3 - Manager

Make sure that the connecting JP1/AJS3 - Web Console host is registered in the connection permission configuration file for connection destination JP1/AJS3 - Manager. If it is not registered, take the corrective action specified in the KAVS8040-E message that was output to the integrated trace log of connection destination JP1/AJS3 - Manager.

Inconsistent settings of the communication encryption function

If a connection is attempted from JP1/AJS3 - Web Console (with the communication encryption function disabled) to the manager host with this function enabled, this message appears. Match the settings of the communication encryption function between the JP1/AJS3 - Web Console host and the manager host.

Other than the above

A probable cause of the error other than the above is that a connection has been established with a port that is being used by another program. Make sure that the port number definition matches the port number (defined for jp1ajs3cdinetd) at the connection destination.
