JP1 Version 12 JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Messages

KAVT0512-E

The socket could not be opened. (Manager=name-of-manager-at-send-destination) (maintenance-information)

If name-of-manager-at-send-destination is My Server Host, an attempt to open the socket failed during startup of an event/action control agent process. If name-of-manager-at-send-destination is not My Server Host, communication with the manager host failed after the process started.

(S)

Terminates the process if this message appears during startup of the event/action control agent process.

If this message appears after the process started, the system continues processing without changing the status of an event job or jobnet with start conditions.

(O)

If name-of-manager-at-send-destination is My Server Host, check the following:

  • Check whether the local host name is registered in the hosts file.

If the host name is not registered, register it, and then restart JP1/AJS3.

  • Check whether the JP1/AJS3 port number is registered in the services file.

If the JP1/AJS3 port number is not registered, register it, and then restart JP1/AJS3.

  • Check whether any process is using port jp1ajs2eaagt.

Use the netstat command to check for such a process. If a process is using port jp1ajs2eaagt, terminate that process, and then restart JP1/AJS3 or the system.

  • Check whether the port number of port jp1ajs2eaagt is outside the range of ephemeral ports.

If the port number is within the range of ephemeral ports, perform either of the following operations, and then restart JP1/AJS3:

    - Change the range of ephemeral ports so that the port number of port jp1ajs2eaagt on the agent host is outside the range.

    - Change the port number of port jp1ajs2eaagt to be outside the range of ephemeral ports for the manager host and agent host.

If name-of-manager-at-send-destination is not My Server Host, from the manager indicated in the message, forcibly terminate the jobnet with start conditions and event job that are being executed on the agent. Then, if necessary, re-execute the event job and jobnet with start conditions.

Also check the following:

  • Check whether the manager indicated in name-of-manager-at-send-destination is currently in use.

If the manager is not currently in use, stop the JP1/AJS3 service on the host that output this message. Then execute the jpoagoec command to delete information about the manager. For details about jpoagoec command, see jpoagoec in 3. Commands Used for Normal Operations in the manual JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Command Reference.

  • Check whether the manager host name is resolved.

If the host name cannot be resolved, define the hosts file, DNS server settings, or jp1hosts or jp1hosts2 information so that the IP address can be obtained from the manager host name.
