6.1 Overview of linking mainframes using JP1/OJE

You can use JP1/OJE to enter jobs into mainframes (such as VOS3) or receive and execute jobs from mainframes. When you enter jobs from JP1/AJS3 to JP1/OJE, JP1/OJE automatically queues the jobs and executes them. You can check the execution result of the job using JP1/AJS3.

You can use JP1/OJE to link VOS3, AS/400, and other manufacturers' mainframes, including OSIV/MSP.

The following describes how to execute mainframe jobs from JP1/AJS3:

• QUEUE jobs and submit jobs

  You can use QUEUE jobs and submit jobs to link VOS3, AS/400, and OSIV/MSP.

  • QUEUE jobs

    You can define the job to be executed and the queue for execution in a QUEUE job so that the jobnet can enter the job into the queue controlled by JP1/OJE.

  • Submit jobs

    You can use a job execution command (having a name starting with jpq) to directly register the job in the queue.
