2.2.1 Prerequisite programs for linking mail systems
The following describes the prerequisites for linked mail systems, and shows an example system configuration.

(1) Mail systems that support linkage
On a Windows host, JP1/AJS3 can link with mail systems that support the SMTP protocol. If the mail system uses POP before SMTP as the authentication method, it must also incorporate a mail server that supports POP3.
Set up the required mail server software on the host to be linked with the mail system. This software does not need to be installed on the same host as JP1/AJS3 - Manager or JP1/AJS3 - Agent.
(2) Example system configuration
The following figure shows an example of a system configuration for linking with mail systems.
