The Detailed Definition - [Receive Mail] dialog box defines the details on monitoring email reception.

This dialog box contains the items displayed in common, and also contains the following pages:

Organization of this subsection

(1) Items displayed in common

The following figure shows the items displayed in common.

Figure 12‒139: Items displayed in common in the Detailed Definition - [Receive Mail] dialog box

[Figure]

The following explains the items displayed in common.

Unit name

Specify a unit name. Use a character string of up to 30 bytes. The default is Receive-Mail.

Comment

Specify a comment for the unit. Use a character string of up to 80 bytes. The default is a blank.

Exec-agent

Specify the execution agent name to be assigned the task of monitoring email reception. Use a character string of up to 255 bytes. If the version of the connection-target JP1/AJS3 - Manager is 09-50 or later, you can specify a macro variable instead. The default is a blank.

This item appears as a text box when either of the following applies:

  • The version of JP1/AJS - View or the connection-target JP1/AJS - Manager is earlier than 09-50

  • The unit is being defined under a remote jobnet

Otherwise, this item appears as a combo box in which you can select an execution agent. You can also directly enter an execution agent name into the combo box. The content of the list component of the combo box differs depending on whether execution agent profiles are enabled, and the contents of those profiles.

When execution agent profiles are disabled

The list is empty.

When execution agent profiles are enabled
  • If the specified job is associated with an execution agent profile

The list displays the execution agents permitted for the specified job.

  • If the specified job is not associated with an execution agent profile

If the upper-level unit is associated with an execution agent profile, the list displays the execution agents permitted for the upper-level unit.

If the upper-level unit is not associated with an execution agent profile, the list will be empty.

For details about execution agents, see 5.1.1 Execution agents in the manual JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Overview.

Cautionary notes
  • If you leave this text box blank, the system inherits the specification of the upper-level jobnet.

If an execution agent group for an upper-level jobnet has been specified, the system uses the execution agent group as the execution agent.

Because event jobs do not support an execution agent group, explicitly specify an execution agent name in Exec-agent. For details about the operation performed if an execution agent group is specified for an event job, see 7.6 Notes on using event jobs in the JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 System Design (Work Tasks) Guide.

  • When you copy and paste a cell in Excel, a space may be appended to the end of the pasted text. In such a case, delete the space.

Pass Info button

Specify information to be inherited by the subsequent job or jobnet. If you click the Pass Info button, the Detailed Definition - [Receive Mail] - [Passing Information] dialog box appears. For more information, see 12.4.18 Detailed Definition - [event-job-icon-name] - [Passing Information] dialog box. This button is located at the bottom of the dialog box.

(2) Definition page

The following figure shows the Definition page in the Detailed Definition - [Receive Mail] dialog box.

Figure 12‒140: Definition page in the Detailed Definition - [Receive Mail] dialog box

[Figure]

The following explains the displayed items.

List of senders

Specify an email sender to be monitored. Use a character string of up to 256 bytes. However, if the execution host of the email reception monitoring job is Windows, use no more than 255 characters to specify a sender. The maximum number of bytes that can be specified is 256, but if you specify 256 or more characters, the email reception monitoring conditions are not met.

Specify a character string, and then click the Add button to add the sender to the list. You can add up to 20 senders to the list. If you add no senders, the system monitors the mail issued by all the senders. To monitor email reception, you must set one or more conditions for List of senders, List of subjects or List of message texts. The default is a blank.

List of subjects

Enter an email subject by using a character string of up to 256 bytes. However, if the execution host of the email reception monitoring job is Windows, use no more than 253 characters to specify an email subject. The maximum number of bytes that can be specified is 256, but if you specify 254 or more characters, the email reception monitoring conditions are not met.

Specify a character string, and then click the Add button to add the subject to the list. You can add up to 20 subjects to the list. If you add no subjects, the system monitors all the subjects. To monitor email reception, you must set one or more conditions for List of senders, List of subjects or List of message texts. The default is a blank.

List of message texts

Clicking the Add button displays the dialog box for entering the text of mail to be monitored. Specify a message using a character string of up to 512 bytes. Clicking the OK button adds the specified text to the list. You can add up to 20 messages to the list. If you do not add any messages, the system monitors all of the messages. To monitor email reception, you must set one or more conditions for List of senders, List of subjects or List of message texts. The default is a blank.

A line feed entered in the text is not correctly displayed in the text list.

Cautionary note

Do not enter a line feed in the text if a UNIX host monitors email reception. A line feed specified in the text causes an inconsistency with the email reception monitoring conditions. This makes the system to remain in the email reception monitoring status.

Option after receive

Specify how to process received email.

Option after receive

If you click the Set button, the Detailed Definition - [Receive Mail] - [Option after Receive] dialog box appears. Set option information to define how to handle received email. If you select Apply, the settings become valid.

The dialog box used when PC is selected in Platform is different from that used when UNIX is selected.

For details, see 12.4.21 Detailed Definition - [Receive Mail] - [Option after Receive] dialog box.

Platform

Specify the type of platform for monitoring the reception of emails. Depending on the selected platform, the Detailed Definition - [Receive Mail] - [Option after Receive] dialog box to be displayed differs.

The following options are available. The default selection is PC.

  • PC

Runs the system in the Windows environment.

  • UNIX

Runs the system in the UNIX environment.

Profile name

You must specify this if you have selected PC in Platform. This item does not appear if you have selected UNIX.

Profile name

Specify a profile name to be used to log in to the email service. Use a character string of up to 256 bytes. The default is a blank.

(3) Attributes page

The following figure shows the Attributes page in the Detailed Definition - [Receive Mail] dialog box.
