12.4.5 Define Details - [Start Condition] dialog box

The Define Details - [Start Condition] dialog box sets start conditions for a root jobnet.

Cautionary notes
  • You can define only the event job icon for start conditions.

  • You cannot make relation.

  • You can set up to 32 icons in the map area.

  • Registration for execution results in an error if a jobnet connector is defined under the selected root jobnet.

This dialog box contains the items displayed in common, and also contains the following pages:

Organization of this subsection

(1) Items displayed in common

The following figure shows the items displayed in common.

[Figure]

The following explains the displayed items.

Unit name

You cannot set this item for start conditions. .CONDITION appears.

Comment

Specify a comment for the unit. Use a character string of up to 80 bytes. The default is a blank.

Exec-agent

You cannot specify this for start conditions.

(2) Definition page

The following figure shows the Definition page in the Define Details - [Start Condition] dialog box.

The following explains the displayed items.

Start condition

You can select either of the following items as a start condition. The default is AND.

  • AND

With multiple events set as start conditions, using AND starts the jobnet if all of those events occur.

  • OR

With multiple events set as start conditions, using OR starts the jobnet if any of those events occurs.

Concurrent exec. of monitoring gen.

Choose the operation to be performed if there is a generation in the Now monitoring status when the start time for the jobnet with a start condition has been reached. Start monitoring. is chosen by default. For details about how to perform multiple startup of monitoring generations, see 3.4.5 Concurrent execution of monitoring generations in the manual JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Overview.

The available options are as follows:

  • Do not start monitoring.

Places the jobnet that has reached the start time in the Skipped so not exe. status without starting monitoring if there is a generation already in the Now monitoring status.

If you have selected Unlimited in the Times or Period text box in Valid range of start condition, we recommend that you choose Do not start monitoring.

  • Wait for the end of monitoring.

Places a jobnet that has reached the start time in the Wait for start time status if there is a generation already in the Now monitoring status. At this time, a message KAVS1420-I (A jobnet with a preset start condition (jobnet-name:execution-ID) will wait for the termination of its monitoring status generation (execution-ID-of-generation-being-monitored)) appears. When the generation in the Now monitoring status ends, the status of the generation in the Wait for start time status changes to Now monitoring.

If the timeout period expires while the jobnet is in the Wait for start time status, the jobnet enters the Skipped so not exe. status.

  • Start monitoring.

Places a jobnet that has reached the start time in the Now monitoring status even if there is a generation already in the Now monitoring status.

If you have selected Unlimited in the Times or Period text box in Valid range of start condition, specifying cycle processing results in multiple monitoring. In this case, occurrence of one event establishes the start condition for each generation in the Now monitoring status.

Pause exec. gen. for start cond.

Use this section to specify whether to retain the established generation if you have chosen Disable in Concurrent exec. in the Define Details - [Jobnet] dialog box, the start condition is established, and there is a generation being executed. If you have chosen Enable in Concurrent exec. in the Define Details - [Jobnet] dialog box, the jobnet enters the Now running status when the start condition is established, regardless of whether Pause exec. gen. for start cond. is chosen. Stay without skip. is chosen by default. For details about retaining execution generations, see 3.4.6 Retention of execution generations with satisfied start conditions in the manual JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Overview.

The available options are as follows:

  • Does not stay with skip.

Places the established generation in the Skipped so not exe. status and does not retain it.

  • Stay without skip.

Places the established generation in the Wait for start cond. status and retains it until the generation being executed ends.

Task after abend

Specify whether to suppress the execution of later jobnets with start conditions if a jobnet with a start condition ends abnormally. Start execution of jobnet. is selected by default. For details about suppressing execution of jobnets, see 3.4.7 Suppressing further executions of a jobnet with start conditions after it abnormally terminates in the manual JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Overview.

The available options are as follows:

  • Start execution of jobnet.

Even after a jobnet terminates abnormally, the system continues to execute those jobnets that meet the subsequent start conditions.

  • Hold start of jobnet.

After a jobnet terminates abnormally, the system places jobnets that meet the subsequent start conditions into either the Being held or Wait for start cond. status and suppresses execution.

  • Stop monitoring of start conditions.

After a jobnet terminates abnormally, the system stops monitoring the start conditions.
