JP1 Version 12 JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Operator's Guide

11.3.5 Storing the display status and position of a window

The system can store the display status and position of a window. When you operate multiple jobnets or jobs, this feature eliminates the need to separately open all windows necessary for definition or monitoring or adjust the positions of windows every time you open the JP1/AJS3 - View window.

Specify from:

JP1/AJS3 - View window

Procedure

To store the display status and position of a window:

  1. Adjust the positions of the necessary windows in the appropriate status.

  2. In the JP1/AJS3 - View window, choose Options, Save Status and Save.

The system stores the status and position of each window.

The next time you open the JP1/AJS3 - View window, the windows are displayed as you specified in step 1.

Cautionary note

For a window corresponding to a deleted unit, an error occurs when you open the JP1/AJS3 - View window next.

Supplementary notes
  • The system does not store information about the Jobnet Monitor window displaying a manager job group, manager jobnet, or remote jobnet.

  • The system does not store information about dialog boxes.

  • If you log in to a host other than the host on which you were logged when the window information was stored, window status is not restored.

  • To clear the stored display status and position of a window, in the JP1/AJS3 - View window, choose Options, Save Status, and then Clear Saved Status.

  • The information about the Jobnet Monitor window, which displays the connection-destination jobnet for a jobnet connector, is not saved if the connection-destination jobnet and the jobnet connector are on different hosts. Also note that this information is not saved in the following cases, even if the connection-destination jobnet and the jobnet connector are on the same host:

For generations with a fixed connection

Information is not saved if the host name you enter in the Login screen to log in to JP1/AJS3 - View is different from the host name# of JP1/AJS3 - Manager.

    # The host name of JP1/AJS3 - Manager is either of the following:

    - For a physical host, the host name returned by the hostname command

    - For a logical host, the logical host name

For generations without a fixed connection

Information is not saved if the host name you enter in the Login screen to log in to JP1/AJS3 - View is different from Connection host in the jobnet connector definition.

Note, however, that information is saved if the Connection host in the jobnet connector definition is omitted.

  • The information about the Daily Schedule window or Monthly Schedule window, which displays the connection-destination jobnet for a jobnet connector, is not saved if the connection-destination jobnet and the jobnet connector are on different hosts.

The information is not saved even when a jobnet connector and its connection-destination jobnet are on the same host if the host name you enter in the Login screen to log in to JP1/AJS3 - View is different from Connection host in the jobnet connector definition. Note, however, that the information is saved if Connection host in the jobnet connector definition is omitted.

  • With regard to the start mode and the function menu items to be displayed, if the settings you specify in the Preferences dialog box differ from the saved settings, the saved settings take precedence.
