5.4 Setting a start condition

This section describes how to set a start condition for a jobnet.

To set a start condition:

  1. In the Jobnet Editor window, display the root jobnet for which a start condition is to be set.

  2. Select Exclusive edit.

  3. Choose Edit and then Define Start Condition.

The Define Details - [Start Condition] dialog box appears.

  4. Select the method for satisfying the start condition.

When you select OR in the Definition page, the jobnet starts when one of the conditions specified in steps 7 to 9 is satisfied.

When you select AND in the Definition page, the jobnet starts when all the conditions specified in steps 7 to 9 are satisfied.

  5. Click the OK button.

The Define Details - [Start Condition] dialog box closes.

A virtual jobnet for defining the start condition (a jobnet titled .CONDITION) is created and displayed in the tree area.

  6. Click jobnet .CONDITION.

The map area for jobnet .CONDITION appears.

  7. Drag the event job icon from the Events tab in the icon list and drop it in the map area.

The Detailed Definition - [event - job] dialog box appears.

  8. Define attributes of the event job.

  9. Click the OK button.

The Detailed Definition - [event - job] dialog box is closed.

  10. Repeat steps 7 to 9 if necessary.

Cautionary notes
  • Only the root jobnet can have a start condition. Note, however, that start conditions cannot be specified for a root jobnet for which release entry was performed (a release-target jobnet).

  • Only one start condition is permitted for the root jobnet. You cannot create more than one start condition.

Supplementary notes
  • You cannot relate the event jobs defined in jobnet .CONDITION.

  • To check or change the conditions for satisfying the start condition, which are set in jobnet .CONDITION, choose Edit and then Define Start Condition. When the Define Details - [Start Condition] dialog box appears, check or change the conditions.

  • To delete a start condition, choose Edit and then Cancel Start Condition.

  • For setting the start condition, see 3.4 Defining a start condition in the manual JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Overview.
