5.1 Overview of the procedure for defining a jobnet

This section describes the procedure for defining a jobnet using JP1/AJS3 - View. The general procedure for defining a jobnet is as follows:

To define a jobnet:

  1. Define a job group.

In the JP1/AJS3 - View window (Main window) of JP1/AJS3 - View, define a job group.

  2. Define a jobnet.

In the JP1/AJS3 - View window (Main window), define a jobnet in the job group defined in step 1.

At this point, the jobnet is not completed. To complete the jobnet, define jobs in the jobnet and relate the jobs if necessary.

  3. Define jobs.

In the Jobnet Editor window, define jobs in the jobnet. Specifically, drag the job icons from the icon list and drop them into the map area.

Then define attributes (such as unit names and execution agents) of the jobs.

You can also define jobnet connectors as needed.

  4. Relate jobs and jobnets if necessary.

Use arrows to bind (relate) the job icons defined in the map area of the Jobnet Editor window. This way, the execution order of the jobs is defined. You can copy, move, and delete icons.

  5. Assign wait conditions as needed to the jobs and jobnets you defined.

You can use wait conditions to control the execution order of jobs and jobnets that you are unable to relate using the method in step 4.

  6. Check the relations with preceding and succeeding jobs, and the relations of jobnets as necessary.

Check the relations between a job and its preceding and succeeding jobs, between a job and a jobnet, or between jobnets.

  7. Specify a start condition for the jobnet if necessary.

Define the condition to start the jobnet. You can define a start condition for a root jobnet, which is the highest - level jobnet.

For definition of jobnets, see 3. Defining Automated Applications in the manual JP1/Automatic Job Management System 3 Overview.
